Help Me

I open my eyes to see my hair covering my face, my cheek pressed into something soft. I brush my hair out of the way to see Niall asleep next to me, with his arm curled around my shoulders as my head rests on his chest. We must have fallen asleep telling stories to each other. I go to wake him, but I stop myself. Lying here with his arm wrapped protectively around me, I felt safe. It's a nice feeling. Haven't had much experience with it though. So I lie still, treasuring the calm, still environment.

We lie there for another few minutes before the door bursts open. "We brought Starbucks!", Louis yells. Niall jerks awake, breathing heavily. "Holy shit Tommo, you almost gave me a heart attack!" We both sit up as the rest of the boys and Caitlin come through the door, followed by the security guys. Caitlin is looking at us with a smirk on her face.

"Ooooh sorry, didn't realize we were interrupting something", she says, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. Niall and I both immediately turn bright red, and I push him away. "You weren't, now stop being a pain in the ass and give me my frappuccino woman!" All of the boys are still smirking, and Niall gives them the finger as I take a sip from my cup. They all collapse into the various chairs and couches scattered around the room, leaving Paul, Alan and Paddy standing awkwardly in front of me.

Paul opens his mouth, but I cut him off with a shake of my head. "Look, Paul, there's nothing to apologize for. It's not your fault that my body's reaction to anything mildly scary is to stop breathing. I just didn't recognize you at first and I'm still a little bit shaky from this evening." Paul sits down opposite me. "Look, the boys told me what happened to you. I'm so sorry, I just made assumptions that you were some crazed fan faking an injury." I shrugged my shoulders. "Meh, it's a mistake anyone could have made. I mean, look at me. Perfect crazed fan material!" Everyone bursts out laughing and Paul reaches over to give me a hug.

"Oh, this is Paddy and Alan", he says. "Um, duh!", Caitlin blurts out. She immediately covers her mouth. "Sorry, that was so rude!", she gasps. Everyone's giggling as she turns red. "Sorry, but you guys are legends in the fandom!" She's blushing so hard I doubt she'd be any more red if she got sunburned. "Wow, a fangirl, Caitlin? Never would've seen it coming!", Harry said with a wry smile. She leans over and smacks him on the arm as everyone erupts into laughter.

There's a quiet knock on the door, and a nurse peeks in. "You have 15 more minutes before visiting hours end", she says sweetly. "Wait, what's the time?", I say, confused. "It's... 9:45pm", says Zayn, glancing at his phone screen. "You've been here since 10pm last night, you woke up at 5pm this evening." Wow. It's been way longer than I thought. "Um, excuse me..." The nurse stops. "Yes?" "Can anyone stay overnight?" She looks around at the nine people crowding the room. "Yes, but family only." I look down quickly.

Caitlin touches the nurse's arm and leads her out of the room. I am still firmly interested in the bedspread, twisting it between my fingers. A moment later, they both walk back into the room. "Ms. Walters can stay the night. Everyone else will have to leave, but visiting hours start at 8am tomorrow!", she says cheerfully. The boys are sending me weird looks, but I ignore them, smiling gratefully at Caitlin.

Paul coughs suggestively, and the boys stand up. I am sad, knowing the inevitable goodbye that has to come. "Can...can I get your autographs before you go?" I'm already blushing. That was embarrassing. "What do you mean go? We'll be back at 8 o'clock sharp tomorrow morning!", Louis exclaims. I mentally sigh in relief as everyone is laughing at me. "Wow, just as much of a fangirl as Caitlin!", Niall says, smirking. I pull my pillow out from under my head and hide my face in it. Soon, there is a gentle touch on my arm, and Niall is pulling me in for a soft hug. "Rest up, I'll be back tomorrow."

Four more hugs follow from the other boys, and they leave the room followed by their security. I lie back on my bed, smiling to myself. Caitlin comes and jumps onto the bed, laying beside me like Niall was. As she puts her head down on the pillow, there is a crinkle of paper. She reaches under the pillow and pulls out a small white rectangle of paper.

It's a list of all of the boys' phone numbers, with a note from Niall.

I don't even notice myself blushing. "I think someone has a not-so-secret admirer", Caitlin smirks suggestively. "Shut up, I'm pretty sure he only feels sorry for me, since he did watch me fall out of a tree and break half the bones in my body." She sighs and lays her head back down, but not before grabbing my phone off the bedside table. "Go on, put them in." I grin and start typing, noticing that Cat is doing the same thing.

I finish entering Zayn's number, and flick a quick text to all of them so they know I'm not some crazy stalker fan.

Within 20 seconds, I have a reply from Niall.

How's the hospital treating ya?

I shake my head and reply, knowing that he only left five minutes ago.

The same as when you were here, except more boring :/

He is quick to reply with a cheeky comment.

Oh, so you think I'm interesting then? ;)

I suddenly feel a presence behind me and turn my head to find Caitlin reading over my shoulder, smirking. "So you still think he doesn't have a thing for you?"

Helloooooo!!

So I would have posted this earlier, but I've been away tramping (or hiking, for all the Americans out there) for four days and had no internet :D

So sad to hear about Louis's mum passing on, I couldn't believe it when I heard :( My prayers are with the Tomlinson family and all of his siblings. She's definitely watching down on the 1D family from heaven, making sure we're all giving the family the love and support they deserve!
