Icing on the Cake

“Good afternoon!” Jenny said as we opened the door to her knock.

“Hello, come on in!” Calum said to her.

Jenny’s visit actually went pretty smoothly. She just watched us in the playroom, asked a few questions, and then off she went.

After her visit, Adam started tugging on my pant leg to go outside to the pool again. Just like the day before, we got the twins changed and took them out to the pool.

That night, I got a text from Michael.

“Calum,” I said, “Michael wants us to have lunch with him tomorrow.

“Okay.” Calum said. “That sounds like fun.”

“He wants Ashton to come with.” I said.

“Oh…”

“If we do this, hopefully he won’t try to kill me again.” I said.

“Why would Michael want to do this?”

“He says that Ashton finally realized that Megan is to blame for what happened. He says he wants to apologize.”

“Do you believe that?” Calum asked.

“I want to.” I said. “Let’s go to the lunch.”
