Icing on the Cake

We purchased our items. I kept trying to tell Calum what I heard, but I didn’t know how to bring it up or what to say.

That night, I was ready to tell Calum.

“Calum, I have to tell you something.” I said, just wanting to rip the band aid off.

“What’s up?” He asked, nonchalantly.

“Today, in the store,” I started. “I heard Brock on the phone. He was talking, and it was intense. Angry, even. He was saying he just had to wait until the next two days were over, and he’d have your family’s fortune.”

Calum was expressionless for a minute, then his face turned into disgusted confusion. “What? Are you sure?”

“I’m one hundred percent sure that that’s what he said.” I said. “And I’ve been really stressed, because I don’t know what do.”

“You must’ve heard it wrong.” Calum said. “There must be something we don’t know.”

“How would you have interpreted that?” I asked.

“I don’t know.” Calum said. “You must have interpreted wrong.”

“No I didn’t!” I asked desperately. “Why don’t you believe me?”

“I…I believe you.” Calum finally said. “But I don’t know what to do.”

“You have to tell Mali.” I said.

“Let me…let me sleep on this.” Calum said dryly, like he was very stressed.

Agreeing that was the best option, I let Calum go to sleep. I stayed up for a while on my phone, staring at photos of Brock on my phone. I knew he reminded me of someone. I knew it. I knew him. I just didn’t know where.

There was one picture in particular. It was from a while ago, like four years ago. He look subtly different then, but the older pictures of him looked more familiar. I kept staring at it, then closing and clearing my mind, then looking at it quickly.

Then it hit me. I know who he is.

HERE'S A CLUE TO WHO BROCK REALLY IS!
The story started five years earlier, when Luke and Calum were sixteen and in high school. The character was introduced to the story BEFORE the five year jump. This character is seen at least once, but maybe more, in Chapters 1-35. Can you figure out who it is? Let me know what you think in the comments.
