Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Ninety-Three
~193~
“Calum and I couldn’t stop fighting to save our lives when we were growing up.” Mali started. “And the ironic thing is, we still hung out all the time. Constantly together, constantly bickering, we were like an old married couple.”
That elicited a couple laughs.
“Calum is the most fearless person I know.” She continued. “If he wants something, he goes for it. If he loves someone, he protects them fiercely. He has helped our family through so many hardships and has done everything he can for us. That’s why I know Luke is the luckiest person in the world. He’ll always be taken care of.”
Once that speech was over, people started clapping.
Jack went next…
“What a lot of people don’t know about my kid brother,” Jack started, “Is that, in spite of all the fame and success he has earned, he has had a lot of struggles in his life. I was there firsthand to witness some of the struggles. I wasn’t there to witness others.”
A lot of people seemed intrigued by what he was saying.
“I know my brother Luke is one of he strongest people in the world. And I’m so happy that through all the hardships he’s had in the last 22 years, he has found someone to love, to hold, and to go on this journey of life together with.”
I was so touched by the nice things he said.
“I couldn’t ask for anyone better for my little brother than Calum. I can’t wait to have another brother in our family.”
People started clapping, I almost started crying, and I heard Calum say “Thanks Jack” to Jack after he ended his speech.
I never thought I could ever be in this place of such happiness.
