Icing on the Cake

The rehearsal dinner was somewhat exhaustive, considering I made a point to go out of my way to thank everyone for coming.

Not that I wasn’t appreciative that everyone came, and not that I didn’t want to talk to them, but seeking out over 200 people specifically without leaving anyone out is quite a challenge.

“I can’t believe how big Angelina is getting!” I exclaimed when I saw Michael and Ren.

“I know, right?” Ren responded.

“It feels like she was just born yesterday.” Michael added.

I was going to go say hi to Ashton before I saw him basically going at it with Alina in a corner.

Both my brothers brought plus-ones, women I’m assuming they’re somewhat-seriously dating, but this was the first time I had met either of them.

But they were both really sweet, from the little bit I talked to them.

Mali also brought a man with to the wedding. When I said hello to him, I low-key expected him to be like her last man, the one who had beat me up for being gay when we were 16. But this new guy was pleasant.

Almost every family member was infatuated with Adam and Anastasia, which is to be expected. Anastasia was loving all the people, but I could tell it was overwhelming Adam.

Once dinner was wrapping up, people starting clinking their champagne glasses, indicating it was time for the rehearsal speeches.

Oh boy, here we go. What skeletons are going to be coming out of the ol’ closets tonight?

The firs one up was Mali to talk about Calum. I figured what she would have to say wouldn’t be that bad. But still…
