Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-Four
~184~
With the wedding getting closer, I was turning into a crazy maniac trying to schedule everything. I was like Monica in that episode of Friends where she became Phoebe’s wedding planner.
“Have you checked the calendar?” I asked Calum one morning.
“Not…recently?” Calum responded, confused.
“Literally our wedding is two weeks from today!” I sputtered.
“Okay, you did not just say literally like that.” Calum answered.
“Do you think everyone got their invitations?”
“If they’ve checked the mail within the last four days, yes.”
“And the Red Door Center is still holding our reservation? Like, we can still hold the wedding there?”
“Luke, you ned to get a grip.” Calum said. “The invitations went out into the mail a week ago. And we both physically saw the Red Door receptionist book our reservation into their computer system.”
“I forgot!” I exclaimed. “I need to call the caterer, like, now!”
Calum grabbed my phone out of my hands. “You need to just relax for a second.”
He then sat me down and proceeded to ask me what kind of breakfast I would like.
“I’m too jittery to eat breakfast.” I said.
“I needed to call a landlord at Brick View apartments for Alina.” Calum said. “Let’s switch jobs. I’ll call the caterer for the wedding and you can call the landlord for Alina.”
“Okay.” I agreed.
