Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Seventy-Eight
~178~
Calum parked the car by our…old elementary school?
“This is where we’re doing date night?” I asked, confused.
“Yeah, it is.” Calum said, confidently. “Just trust me, here.”
“Okay…” I complied, skeptically.
Like a gentleman, Calum opened the door for me and took my hand. He walked us to a…playground. He then put down a blanket on the sand and told me to sit down.
“A picnic,” Calum said, “At the playground we used to hang out at all the time.”
We sat down for one minute, and the thick sand started getting on the blanket, and the ground was a lot rougher than you would think it was, making it super uncomfortable.
Realizing that this wasn’t very romantic at all, Calum dropped his head in embarrassment.
“This was so much cuter in my head.” He said.
“I love you for trying!” I responded, trying not to sound bitchy.
“Want to just go to the café?”
“Sure.” I said back.
After we ate, he drove us back home. Once we parked in our driveway, he told me to go in before him. Thinking he had something else up his sleeve, I did as he said.
“Go inside and lock me out.” Calum said to me once we got to the door.
I immediately knew why he told me to do that.
I ran inside and locked him out. For a second, we looked at each other through the door’s window. I just initiated the game.
Briskly, Calum ran away from the door. I ran through the house to lock the door on the other side. But, like usual, he got in before I could. He knocked me to the ground and started to tickle me.
“I’m at your mercy!” I surrendered right away. I then put my hand on the back of his head and brought his lips to mine.
And this time, I felt no shame in doing so.
