Icing on the Cake

Calum had us sit down at his basement after school in front of his Cannon camera and explain what happened. Without editing, Calum posted it online.

“Why did you want to do that?” I asked. “I almost started crying many times.”

“People need to know what happened!” Calum said. “It’s not okay what happened to you and it’s not okay what happened to us!”

“I don’t think anything will change.” I said.

“You never know. Maybe lots of people will get pissed at the principal and maybe enough pressure will make him crack.”

“I don’t think people care that much.”

“Maybe you’d be surprised. The sun is still out. Do you want to jump in the pool?”

“Not really. I said. “But I’d be happy to watch you swim and talk to you if you wanted to take your shirt off.”

“Deal.” Calum said.

I sat down on a couch in the basement and looked at my phone. I thought maybe after twenty-four hours my parents might have called or texted saying they wanted me back home and they were so sorry and they lost their minds doing what they did. But they didn’t.

I looked up to realize that Calum had taken his shirt off. I tried not to stare as he took his pants off, but then realized I’m allowed to look at him. Calum then was wearing only his boxers, and he then slid them off! I was seeing Calum naked for the first time!

I was obviously staring and he obviously knew. I was starting to get…um…you know…down there, so I quickly put my feet up on the couch and put my knees near my face. He sadly put on his blue board shorts relatively quickly.

“Ready to go?” He asked.

Once he was in the pool, I was dipping my feet in and pondering everything. “I don’t know where I’m going to go.” I said.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

“I don’t know where I’ll go after this.” I clarified. “I can’t stay here forever.”

“Why not?” Calum asked.

My phone started ringing right after Calum asked that. I looked down to see it was from my brother Ben.

“You look like a deer in the headlights!” Calum exclaimed. “Who is it?”

“I’m sorry.” I said. “I think I need to take this.” I answered the call. “Hey Ben.”
