Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Five
~145~
“Well we’re still going to do it.” I said later that night when Calum and I were discussing this.
“You seriously still want to do it?” Calum asked.
“Of course I do!” I said. “How do you not want to?”
“There are people threatening our lives!”
“We can’t let the terrorists win.”
“What does that even mean?”
“I refuse to keep living in fear.” I said. “They don’t have to. I’m sick and tired of my life being all about this fear of being myself.”
“I get that.” Calum said. “But I don’t want anything to happen to either of us.”
“And nothing will.” I tried to reassure.
“How do you know that?”
“We have the Australian National Security there to protect us.”
“Still…”
“If the national security protecting us isn’t enough to make you feel safe than I don’t know what will.”
Calum smirked at me.
I walked up to Calum. “Do you know what I’m about to say?”
“Everything’s going to be okay?” Calum asked.
Notes
I just finished writing Chapter 150 and the rest of the chapters (especially the ones leading up to 150) get so climatic and it FUKIN EXPLODES in 150!
(And tbh this is still less explosive than my ultimate climax so be prepared for the very end whenever that happens (it won't be for a while don't worry))
My heart, Oof.
