Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Three

Calum did go to the interview the next day, and I think it went really well.
It’s true that my passion and fire for this issue was much stronger than his, so I took the lead in the interview, but I was very happy that he was there.
“We’re really trying to push around our legislators.” Calum said, almost nervously, towards the end of the interview.
“Luke, do you feel as if you’re pushing around the legislators?” The interviewer asked.
“I wouldn’t use those words.” I said.
“How would you put it?” The interviewer asked.
“I would say what I’ve always been saying.” I said. “I would say that we deserve nothing less than equality and we are demanding the the legislators, that work for us, give it to us.”
The interviewer then turned her attention away form us and turned to the camera to wrap up the interview.
“This pride event is gaining enormous amounts of attention around the country, and even around the globe. While you do not need a ticket to participate in the parade, the City of Sydney is expecting a massive turnout, and city officials have been continuously redrawing the parade route on the city map to accommodate the highest amount of people. The city and LGBT organization is also increasing security, as security begins to be a main concern.”
Calum and I decided to go to a juice bar after the interview.
“Calum,” I started, “I can tell you’re not into this. I know you’re doing it for me and I love you for that, but really, why aren’t you into it?”
Calum sighed. “I can’t it explain it, Luke. I Just have a really bad feeling about this.”
