Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Forty-One
~141~
“That was amazing!” Amanda said to me once the interview was over.
“Thank you!” I said back. “It wasn’t too intense?”
“It was perfect!” Amanda said. “This will really get people ready to stand up and fight for this bill, through this pride event!”
Once the interview was over, I got home to see my brother Ben, sitting on the count in the living room with Calum, watching some sort of sports.
“How was the interview?” Calum asked, halfheartedly.
“I think it went really well.” I said. “Do you think that you’ll be able to make it to the one scheduled for tomorrow?”
“Should be.”
“You missed a really good interview today.” I said. I was still a little upset that he chose to watch sports rather than do this.
“Well, if the Sharks weren’t playing today, I could’ve made it.” Calum said sarcastically, almost condescending in the way that I should’ve known that, and he had to state and oversimplify the obvious for me.
Ben let out a small laugh, keeping his gaze locked on the TV.
“Calum, can I talk to you in the kitchen?” I asked.
“Seriously?” Calum moaned. “How about at half time.”
“Fine.” I said as I walked into the kitchen to wait for him.
When Calum finally came to me, he said, scoffed, “What?”
Why is he like this. “Calum, why are you not into this pride thing?” I asked.
