Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Seven

“Oh my God yes.” I said.
“It’s very short notice.” Amanda said. “But they are offering compensation.”
“We don’t need any.” I said.
“Luke…” Calum trailed off. “Shouldn’t we talk about this?”
“What’s there to talk about?” I asked.
“Okay.” Calum said, like he wasn’t happy with what was happening.
“We are yours.” I said. “What do we have to do?”
“Later this week, we will start doing interviews.” Amanda said. “We would also ask that you personally tweet about it to drum up as much attention as possible. They’re hoping that a very large crowd assembling will show the public support for fully inclusive marriage equality.”
“Hell yeah!” I said. “Just tell me the time and the place for the interviews and pride event.”
“Obviously,” Amanda continued, “With the crowd this is likely to draw, we will need to have security which the foundation will provide.”
“Great.” I said. “And this turnout will make some noise. The lawmakers work for us and we’re going to demand that they give us the equality we deserve.”
“That’s exactly what you should say in the interviews and during the event!” Amanda said, excited.
I turned over to Calum, who had a small smile on his face. I think we were finally getting him on board.
“Let’s make the biggest event ever!” Calum said, almost excitedly.
I then chimed in, “They’re going to hear about this all over the world!”
“You can count on it.” Amanda said.
