Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-One
~131~
“Is that Mimi?” Calum asked.
“Yeah.” I said.
“Hey!” She said, walking up to Calum. “Could I squeeze in with you guys?”
“Sure.” Calum said quietly as he got all of us to squooch over.
It was the longest and most awkward service after.
“We’re ready for the party!” My brother said to me after the service. We were having all our family, Ashton, Michael, Ren, Mali, and Calum’s parents over to our house for a Christmas Eve dinner party.
“You’re having a party?” Mimi asked really fake sweetly and innocently.
“We are.” I said, sounding curt. “And we really have to leave because the meal is in the oven.”
“Could I come with?” Mimi asked. “It’s me, Calum, Mimi. And I have no place to go.”
“Um…sure.” Calum said.
I glared at Calum.
“Sorry.” He said to me in the car. “I couldn’t say no to her.”
“She’s a total bitch.” I said. “She got Brett, who tried to marry your sister for money, beat me up! You think that’s a good influence in our home?”
“It’s just one dinner…” Calum trailed.
