“I think she still likes you.” I said.

“That’s ridiculous.” Calum snorted.

“Did you see the way she looked at you?” I asked.

“You’re not right.” Calum said. “But even if you were, do you not trust me? Did we not just go over this?”

“I trust you, that’s not the problem. But I don’t like the idea of her drooling all over you tonight.”

“It’ll be fine, Luke.”

The party started out really fun. My parents were really behaving themselves, and it felt like a great family holiday. One we hadn’t had in years. It felt right to be with my parents, my brothers, and even better to be with my fiancée and two children. It’s like we were one big happy family.

However, Mimi was hanging all over Calum. She kept grabbing him by the shoulders and rubbing her hands across his chest while giggling. And he wasn’t doing anything about it.

When she was alone in the kitchen filling her drink, I walked over to her. “Please stop hanging on my fiancée.” I said to her.

“So you two did work out.” Mimi said.

“Why are you here?” I asked.

“I want my boyfriend back.”

“He’s my fiancée.” I said. “We also have two children together.”

“I thought you needed a vagina somewhere in the mix to do that.”

“Their biological mother is here. See her?” I pointed out Julia. “All three of us are raising Adam and Anastasia together. Now please leave.”
