Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred Fourteen
~114~
“Do we have anything planned tonight?” Calum asked me the next day while we were playing with the twins in the playroom.
“I don’t think so.” I responded.
“Okay, cool.” Calum said back.
“Why?”
“Oh, I invited Ben over.”
The response shook me out of shock. “What?” I responded, befuddled. “You invited Ben over? Are you serious?”
“Yeah…are you mad?”
I thought about the question for a second. “No…I’m not mad. I’m shocked.”
“Why are you shocked?” Calum asked.
“You’re hanging out with my brother on purpose.”
“Yeah, there’s a game tonight. I thought he could come over, we’d open up a few beers and a bag of chips and watch it.”
“Oh my God.” I said. “It’s like I’m dating a straight guy.”
“Well…” Calum trailed off.
“What, are you saying you’re straight?” I asked, intending to be humorous but coming out somewhat angry.”
“I thought I was straight until we happened. Like, I thought girls were…nice.”
“Do you still?”
“I don’t think about it now; I’m with you.”
“What, are you bi?” I asked. It occurred to me that we never had a conversation like this before. It also occurred to me that I asked that question with disgust.
“What, are you a label maker?” Calum grumbled.
There was a pause. “I’m sorry.” I said. “Your hobbies have no connection to your sexual orientation.”
“Thank you, you’re right.” Calum said. “And I’m sorry too. Look, Adam plays with Barbies every day but God knows if he’ll be gay or not.”
“Great example.” I said, smirking.
Notes
Do you guys want smut? I think I might put in some smut coming up. (Because we all know I'm SOO good at that! Yeah, that was sarcasm.)
Also, we'll explore that Calum-thought-he-was-straight area in a few chapters :)
My heart, Oof.
