Icing on the Cake

Chapter One Hundred Fifteen

~115~

“Hey man!” Calum said that night as he opened the door to Ben. Calum turned our living room into a man cave with chips, pretzels, beer, and the TV turned onto the fuball game.

“Hey bro!” Ben said to Calum as they “bro hugged” each other.

“I’m your actual bro.” I thought to myself, but restrained from saying out loud. God, why did them hanging out bother me so much?

I would’ve called Mali to see if she wanted to get mani-pedis with me, but it would’ve been a little awkward, considering what went down with Brock and all.

Seriously, why did it bother me that Calum was hanging out with my brother?

A few hours after Ben showed up, I could hear them do various yelling at the TV, intermixed with beer cans opening and bags of chips ripping.

Wow, I might as well get Calum a t-shirt that says “Beer Sports Women.”

It was time for the twins to go to bed, and I brought them downstairs for Calum to kiss them goodnight.

Calum hugged and kissed them goodnight, and Ben showed a surprising interest in the twins. It occurred to me that this was the first time he was meeting them.

Anastasia, being the fearless personality she is, walked straight over to Ben and started crawling all over him.

“Hey there.” Ben said, picking her up and putting her on his lap. “You must be Anastasia!”

I figured Adam wouldn’t want to go around Ben. Adam is timid and has to be around someone for a while before he’s comfortable with them. But…this was an exception.

Adam went straight over to Ben. This was very out of character for him. Was it because Anastasia was there? Was it because Calum was still right there? Still, this is abnormal for Adam.

“Hey little man!” Ben said, picking up Adam and putting him on the other side of his lap. I thought for sure that Adam would start freaking out, but he didn’t.

“It’s their bed time.” I said, and lowkey snatched them away.

SERIOUS QUESTION
Okay so in America when we say football we mean American football and your (Australia, UK, literaly anywhere but America) football is soccer to us. But when you're referring to Australian or UK football do you spell it "football" or "futbal"? Or how do you spell it?
