Day of the Concert
I woke up around 10 so I could get ready for the concert. I was nervous for bringing Toby because I feel like he shouldn’t be around with things that involve Liam. I don’t want the two mixing it makes me uncomfortable. Also, Toby has been really clingy lately always wanting to hang out and texting me non-stop, I mean I girl has got to be free sometimes.
I go to take a shower and I put on a pair of shorts and a sparkly blue tank top. I then dry my hair, curl it and pulled half of it up with a clip. When I got downstairs it was around 11:30, I was leaving here at noon so I could go pick up Toby and go to the place early to hang out with the boys a little. I toasted myself a bagel with cream cheese. I put on a pair of black converse and grabbed my purse which already had the tickets in it and headed out the door.
I arrived to Toby’s house and I went to knock on the door. I heard a girl squealing behind the door, that’s weird he doesn’t have any sisters and his mom is out of town. Then I heard Toby moaning “Nici”. Nici? There is only one Nici around here and why would she do something like this? I knock on the door finally. Toby comes and answers the door.
“Oh shit Aurora!” Toby was only in a pair of boxers.
“Hi, I see that you aren’t ready.” I was starting to get aggravated.
“Oh uh yeah, I was busy…”
“Really? Busy doing who exactly?” Toby’s face got really red when I said that.
“I… uh…. No one” He stammered.
“Oh please, I heard a girl squeal and you moan Nici”
“It isn’t what you think” He said as I burst into his house and went up to his room. I opened the door and saw Nici, Liam’s sister, my best friend, laying on his bed in just a bra and underwear.
“Nici?” I asked, I was about to cry. “How could you? What kind of friend does this? How can you be so selfish?”
“Auri! I’m sorry! It just happened” Nici pleaded.
“Don’t you ever call me Auri again you back stabbing bitch I never want to see you ever again” I stormed out of the house and into my car.
I drove to the arena that the concert was going to be held at. I parked my car and headed back stage. I ran into Harry and Niall racing each other in golf carts. Seeing them so happy just brightened my mood. Harry saw me first so he stopped racing on their path and cut across the manmade track.
“Harry! That is cheating!” Niall screamed, he hadn’t noticed me yet.
“Aurora! I am so glad that you came!” Harry said as he came to a halt in front of me. Niall finally saw me and started heading over too.
“Hey Harry, Niall! How have you been?”
“Fantastic Blondie!” Harry said.
“Hey where is that boyfriend that Liam told us about?” Niall asked me
“Oh yea, well he decided not to come he had someone better to do.” I said.
“Someone?” Harry asked.
“Sorry I meant something” I plastered on a fake smile. “ So where is Liam anyways? I wanted to say hi before I went to go sit out in the audience.”
“Oh well you see Liam is a little…. Preoccupied at the moment.” Harry said.
“Yea he is off in some closet with Danielle I think, you know the stylist’s assistant” Niall said oblivious to the fact that Harry was giving him daggers for telling me.
“Niall! We weren’t going to tell her that!” Harry said as he grabbed Niall in a head lock.
“Oh guys please! It is totally fine, Liam is free to do whoever he pleases!” As I said that I felt a tear trail down my face. Harry caught it before it fell to the floor.
“Hey are you okay Blondie? Come sit on my lap and tell Harry everything!” Harry said as he dragged me into his golf cart.
“You have to promise not to tell Liam! Can you do that?”
“Of course! Do you know how many secrets I have kept from Liam?”
“Okay so I went to go pick up Toby at his house and I heard a girl squealing from inside, he answered the door in just his undergarments and he was really disheveled. I got angry so I went up to his room to see who it was. It was Nici, Liam’s sister, I am so hurt! I tell her more stuff than I tell Liam.” I started bawling. Harry wrapped his arms around me and I cried in his shoulder.
“It’s okay Love! Things will all get better don’t worry!”
“Harry! You can make out with girls on your own time we have to go get ready for the show!” I heard Liam’s voice ring from across the room. I looked up to see him walking across the room. “Auri? What are you doing on Harry’s lap? And why are you crying? What did they do to you?” Liam started running when he saw that I was crying. When I look at him I can’t help but feel betrayal from him and his sister. I can’t look at him without getting a little angry at him for nothing.
“What, I seek comfort from Harry? And why I am crying you might ask? Ask your whore of a sister!” I started to get angrier and angrier.
“My sister? What does she have to do with this? And don’t call her a whore! And that doesn’t explain why you are on Harry’s lap if you wanted someone to comfort you why didn’t you come to me?” Liam confused look turned into rage.
“She is a back stabbing bitch that is why! Oh and I didn’t come to you because you were off in some closet getting it on with Danielle, so you were a little preoccupied to comfort me!” My voice was raising, so now I was screaming at him.
“Danielle? Is this why you are angry? Because you are jealous of her? You don’t see me getting mad about you hanging out with Toby!”
“Really! You want to go there! Do you see him here? Huh? He fucking cheated on me! You know what?”
“What Auri? Please tell me!” Liam screamed.
“I can’t do this anymore! You are so self-absorbed and I can’t even look at your face anymore! Seeing you makes me boil with anger! I am leaving! Don’t even bother to call ever!” I stormed out of the room. I was about to reach the exit when I heard someone scream “Aurora”
I turned and spat out a sour “What?” Honestly I was sort of hoping for Liam because I didn’t want him to give up that easily. But it wasn’t Liam, it was Harry and Niall was running not far behind him
“Aurora! I know you want nothing to do with Liam but can we still stay friends?” Harry pleaded.
I calmed down a little. “Yea Harry we can still stay friends, you too Niall. I just have to get out of here, I can’t handle seeing him right now it just reminds me of what Nici did. I will text you though! Okay?” I turned and started walking out the door I heard Harry scream “Okay”.
I went home and just laid on my bed, today’s event poured into by brain as I repeated them. Toby and Nici’s betrayal didn’t hurt as much as my fight with Liam, which was the worst fight that we had ever had. I started crying thinking about what it would be like not having him there to talk to all the time. At least I move into college in two weeks, things will get better, I will make new friends. I thought to myself. I slowly drifted to sleep as the tears still stained my pillow.
