Right In Front of Your Eyes

When I woke up Liam was lying on top of me with his head resting on my chest and I could tell that he drooled in his sleep because there is a giant wet spot on my t-shirt, gross. I wanted him to move so I could change my shirt but he looked so peaceful. I heard my phone vibrate signaling that I have a text message. I carefully grabbed my phone off my bed stand.
Toby: Hey babe! I was wondering if you thought about my offer more.
Me: Yea I did… and I accept your offer ;)
Toby: YES!!!! So do you want to go get a coffee or something today?
Me: I’m sorry but since Liam is barely here anymore I was planning on spending the day with him. How about a reign check?
Toby: Sure babe :* don’t spend all day thinking of me Liam deserves some attention
Me: Oh darn! ;)Say do you want to go to a One Direction concert with me this coming weekend? I got to go I will talk to you later
Toby: Sounds like fun! Bye love!
Love? I only started dating him like 5 minutes ago. I feel like flirting with any guy is a lie because I only feel this way when I think of Liam. I know that I have to give over Liam and this was the best way to do it. I slowly nudge Liam to wake him up. He tightens his grip on my waist. “Liam, you need to get up”
“Noooo I want to spend the day away with you in bed” He said as he snuggled into my chest.
“Liam!” I exclaimed.
He jerked up looked at me and his face got really red. “Sorry I thought I was in a dream.” He said embarrassingly.
I laughed, what I would give to spend the day with him in bed. My mind wandered to the possibility that he would want just me all the time. I woke up from my daze when Liam was snapping his fingers in front of my face and saying “Auri” over and over again.
“Hmmm? Oh, sorry I was daydreaming” I say as I get out of bed to grab clothes for the day, a pair of cut off shorts and a loose tank top and a sports bra to wear underneath the tank top. I go into the bathroom to start to get ready for the day. Once I was ready for the day I head downstairs to find Liam all dressed and starting to make some pancakes for breakfast. I go to the fridge and grab bacon and start frying it up on the pan while Liam flips pancakes. I went to grab plates and put them in front of the stools at the island. I grab the plate of bacon and turned and grabbed the orange juice and put them all on the island as Liam flipped the last pancake off.
“We work so well together” Liam finally said after about 20 minutes of silence.
“We only made breakfast” I started chuckling.
“Breakfast is a precursor of life, duh everyone knows that” Liam looked at me and then winked.
I lost it. I started laughing so hard that I almost face planted my syrup covered pancakes. Liam joined in when I was all over the place like a Bo-Bo doll and I kept hitting him and then almost falling off my chair, every time I almost fell off he pulled me back on my seat. We really do work well together.
“Okay okay I think I’m good now” I said as my laughter slowly seized.
“You sure? You were all over the place” Liam asked cautiously but with a light heart.
“Yea yea I am just really hungry and want this bacon before it goes cold. You know how much I love bacon”
“Yea I remember going to a fair and you almost bought the biggest pig because you thought of all the bacon that it would produce”
“I didn’t think that through did I?”
“No you did not I had to talk you out of it because I had to ask you how you were going to get the bacon and what about the rest of the meat on the pig, then you stopped and looked at me with sad eyes and said ‘There is meat other than bacon on a pig’ It was so funny, even now just thinking about it”
“Yea I was pretty arrogant then” We finished our plates and I grabbed them and started washing all the dishes while Liam came over and started drying them.
“So what do you want to do today?” I asked Liam.
“Can we go to our favorite Café for lunch so we can get those giant cups of hot cocoa? Oh and we can go to the park like old days!” Liam started to bounce like a little girl.
“How could I say no to you? Come on we will go to the park first go grab your shoes”
We left my house and started walking to the park, it was pretty early in the day so it was deserted. People usually don’t start coming out until around noon. It was nice and peaceful at the park we hiked around the pond where I found the tulips, we swung on the swings where we used to have daily swinging competitions to see who could go the highest. When I got off the swings and headed to the slides I heard Liam jump off the swing and start running. He then jumped on my back.
“Ugh! Liam! I can’t hold your weight I’m going to fall” I said as I fell and he fell with me and landed on top of me.
Liam started laughing as he looked into my eyes “Just like when we were 5 and I landed on you”
“Yea but you were a hell of a lot lighter when you were 5”
“Wow! Are you calling me fat?” Liam asked jokingly
“Yes! Now get off of me.” He got off of me then reached out his hand to help me up when I heard clicks of a camera. I turned and saw a group of paparazzi taking pictures of Liam helping me up. Liam noticed them just as I had.
“Just ignore them! Come on let’s go to the Café I am craving their hot cocoa!” Liam said as he grabbed my hand and started towards the Café. He wrapped his arm around me protectively when people started crowding us, both fan girls and paparazzi. We reached the Café and the paparazzi stayed outside along with the hundreds of girls. We asked the owner not to let them in for our sake. She agreed whole-heartedly because she has grown a very large soft spot for us from all the years that we have been coming here. We ordered the hot cocoas and some cherry pies.
“Um, Liam I was just thinking, you know for the concert…. Can I maybe get another ticket to bring Toby with me?” I ask hesitantly. It’s not like I didn’t want to just be there with Liam it is that I knew that I would be all alone in the audience when he was performing.
“Huh? Oh yea I will send you one for him.” As Liam said that he looked down at the empty table.
“It is just I don’t want to be alone while you are performing, don’t worry though I will definitely hang out with you after the show. Maybe I can meet the girl that you were talking about last night”
“What girl?” Liam asked then I saw it click “Oh yea Danielle”
“Wow you can’t even remember the girl you like. I’m glad you can at least manage to remember your best friends name.”
“Yea, it’s Arida right?” I threw my spoon that had some hot cocoa on it at Liam. He started laughing “I’m joking! I know your name is Aurora I know everything about you!” Yea accept for the guy who I really have a crush on I thought.
Our pies came and Liam dug right into his piece like he hasn’t eaten anything in days. His face was covered in cherry pie filling. I grabbed my napkin and reached across the table to wipe it off. As I reached over he stopped eating and brought his face closer to me so I could wipe it off for him. Once I got it all off I said “That’s better I can actually see where your lips end now.” He smiled at me.
Once we finished our pies we walked back to my house which took us twice as long because of all of the paparazzi. I had no idea how famous Liam actually was. This was insane. When we got back to my house I saw Toby sitting on my front step with a bouquet of daffodils. They were pretty flowers don’t get me wrong but they weren’t tulips that is for sure.
“Hi Toby!” I said as I walked up to the front door. Toby shot a glare at Liam and I realized that Liam had his arm wrapped around my shoulders still from trying to keep me close due to the paparazzi. Liam dropped his arm off my shoulders as soon as Toby shot him the glare.
“Auri!” Toby said as he kissed me.
“What did I tell you? Call me Aurora” Liam snickered. He knew how much I hated when people other than himself called me Auri.
“Sorry I forgot!”
“Besides I thought we were going to hang out tomorrow I told you that I was going to spend the day with Liam” I said aggravated
“Well I just couldn’t stay away from you and your lovely golden hair” Toby said as he picked up a strand of my hair.
“Okay fine, you can stay” I give in. Liam gave me a surprised look.
“Auri…” Liam whined.
“Liam… be nice!” I scolded.
“Hey how come he can call you Auri?” Toby asked.
“That is because when we were little he couldn’t say Aurora so he just said Auri even though I didn’t like it and it just stuck. But he is the only one who really calls me that accept for his sister occasionally.” I explained.
“Oh…” Toby said.
I grabbed his hand and lead him into my house and towards the kitchen. Just as we got to the kitchen Liam’s phone rang.
“Hello?” Liam said “But… okay okay…. Yea I will leave right now…. Okay bye”
“Are you leaving already?” I said with a sad face.
“Yea apparently today is the perfect day to film the music video for one of our songs. I will see you next weekend though!” Liam said as he came over and engulfed me in a hug. “I will also send the other ticket when I get back” He leaned down and kissed my cheek. “See you later”
With that he went up to grab his bags and he left. My cheery mood vanished and I wished that he was still here. Toby came up behind me and wrapped me in a hug and started whispering sweet nothings in my ear. It was cute but I just didn’t feel like faking or even being bubbly for the rest of the day.
