ღ 100 Days to Say I Love You ღ

☁ Day Three ☁

97 Days

Suddenly the doorbell rang, as I heard Katie open the front door. “Oh, hey babe, you’re looking pretty good today.” I heard Katie squeal, as I rolled my eyes, slipping my black beanie over my brown hair.

I swung my red moustache book bag over my shoulder, silently giggling to myself how immature I was when I first purchased it. Quickly giving the mirror another look, I assured myself I looked fine.

I scurried downstairs, peeking to check the visitor.

“So Harry, what brings you here?” Katie asked the boy next to her, the one with the dark curls and gleaming green eyes.

My eyes widened as I realized he was the boy from yesterday. Maybe I should go give him a hello?

“Nothing much,” Harry’s voice was weak, as if there was something on his mind.

I let out a sigh as I checked the time.

“How about skipping school again?” Katie grinned, as Harry hung his shoulder around Katie.

“Maybe not today, I’m busy.”

“Alright then, I suppose I’ll go today as well. How about we take your car this time?”

“Fine with me,” Harry held the door for Katie as I watched them exit the house.

I realized I let my only way of transportation leave. “Shit,” I mumbled, rushing down the stairs and swinging the door open, seeing Harry’s hands on the steering wheel.

“KATIE-“ I ran out of words to say, waving my hands in the air, looking like a complete idiot.

Harry then saw me, and then for the first time today, he smiled. I saw him mouth something to Katie, and her eyes looked at me angrily, as I smiled nervously.

Katie stepped out of the car, and yelled, “HEY BITCH, GET IN THE CAR!”

“Y-Yes ma’am!” I stammered, running to the car door, and entering the back seat.

He started up the engine, turning the steering wheel. “You’ve really done it now, bitch,” Katie snapped, as I silently sat in the back, hoping I could disappear.

“Katie, let it go,” Harry said sternly.

“Oh shut up, Harry,” Katie’s voice sharpened.

“I’m sorry,” I said.

“It’s not your fault, Skye,” Harry said sympathetically.

“She doesn’t need your pity,” Katie muttered under her breath.

I felt better knowing Harry was on my side between this argument, and I actually started to enjoy Harry’s company a lot more.
“As you can see, class,” Mrs. Peterson’s voice continued on, as I ignored her, feeling drowsy.

I felt a light tap on my right shoulder, and saw Niall, handing me a piece of folded up paper. “What’s this?” I whispered, making sure Mrs. Peterson didn’t notice.

My heart skipped a beat, hoping the note was from Niall.

“It’s a note from Harry,” Niall whispered back, as my face fell. “What’s wrong?’

“N-Nothing,” I replied, silently groaning and slumping back in my chair.

I unfolded the paper, slowly reading the note.

Hey Skye, I wanted to apologize for yesterday’s incident. Is it alright if I take you out for some coffee to make it up?

I ripped a piece of paper from my notebook, and started to quickly scrawl on the paper.

Sorry Harry, maybe next time.

I tossed the note back to Niall, as he passed it to Harry. I peered at Harry’s face, watching his smile fade into a depressed look.

I wanted to say yes, but I didn’t want to give him the wrong impression.
I began walking home, admiring the scenery and smiling as I saw the birds tweet and sing. “Wow, they’re so beautiful,” I chuckled to myself.

“Like you.”

I turned around and saw Harry standing by me, and reacted by kicking his leg. “Oww!” He flinched in pain, as I backed up.

“Why are you following me?” I screamed, wanting to make an apology, but the proper words wouldn’t come out.

“Shouldn’t you apologize to me first?”

“S-Sorry, but why are you following me?”

“Relax, I’m just visiting Katie.”

My cheeks turned bright red, realizing I misinterpreted the situation and exaggerated too much. Wait, what about his existing car?

“What about your car?” I asked suspiciously.

“Well, you see-“

“Don’t bother explaining. I can see your personality right through your eyes. You’re one of those people who find relationships meaningless. You take joy in making others feel like shit!” I interrupted him, pausing as I realized I just said it aloud.

“I can’t believe you would think that, Skye. You don’t even know me,” Harry said angrily.

He walked past me, as my heart started pounding faster. What have I done?

“Harry, wait-“ I turned around, and clutched his hand to stop him. “I’m sorry for making up assumptions…”

“Look, Skye. I hate myself for liking you when I’m already in a relationship with Katie.”

I let go of his hands, and felt my body go stiff. “Skye, I really like you…” Harry’s voice trailed off.

“Harry, then you’re no different from a player,” I shot back at him. “I can’t believe for a second I thought you were actually decent.”

“Skye, you’re different.”

He leaned in to kiss me, and I backed away. “Look, I’m not looking for a relationship,” I said quickly.

"Skye-"

Before he could continue, I dashed off, watching from behind as Harry walked the other way.

Did I make the right choice?
