ღ 100 Days to Say I Love You ღ

☁ Day Four ☁

96 Days
Harry’s POV:

I stared at the rusty orange doorbell, hesitating whether or not I should press it. I wanted to apologize to Skye, but I couldn’t find the right words. Without confidence, I pressed the doorbell with my thumb, hearing the echo of the doorbell ringing.

The door swung open, and there standing was Skye in red pajamas. “What do you want?” She asked groggily. “It’s Saturday morning, and I don’t feel like arguing with you.”

I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She raised an eyebrow, and pushed the door to close, but I forced it not to close. “Skye, I’m sorry for what happened yesterday.”

Instead of looking at me, she looked down at her feet. “I’m sorry for insulting you yesterday.”

“Everything I said yesterday was true.”

She made eye contact with me, and bit her lip. “So did I, Harry.”

“Can you give me another chance to express my apology?” I added quickly.

“How can I possibly give you another chance if you already have a girlfriend? It just doesn’t work for me in your world. Katie is my stepsister, and if you break her heart, then I won’t forgive you.”

“That’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

Her face fell, and immediately her cheeks turned bright red. “J-Just leave.”

“I’ll leave you alone if you give me another chance.”

“What about Katie?” She furrowed her eyebrows.

“I’m guessing that’s a yes?” I grabbed her arm as I dragged her out of her house.

She pulled away, and she smiled, and said, “As long as it’s not a date, I’m fine with it.”

“Great, when are you going to change?”

“What’s wrong with my pajamas?” She asked sarcastically, chuckling as she stepped into her house.
Skye’s POV:

In the few minutes I had, I snatched my beige striped jumper off the white hanger in my closet, and grabbed light blue jeans from inside my drawers. I took one of my favorite beanies off the dresser tabletop, and applied lipstick, swinging my light brown purse, and slipping on my shoes.

I made my way down the stairs, letting myself a quick glimpse at my outfit. I saw Harry standing there by the doorway, his hands inside his jacket pocket, and his foot tapping on the ground with an upbeat rhythm.

There was a gut feeling inside me that told me not to go, but I assured myself that everything would go fine. “Let’s go,” Harry said, as his arm extended around my head.

“W-What are you doing?” I stammered, blushing as he held me tighter.

“It’s cold outside. Don’t get the wrong idea.”

“Right,” I muttered under my breath. “I forgot to ask, where are we going?”

“A nearby coffee shop,” he answered back, his eyes focused on the sidewalk. “Don’t worry, walking there only takes a couple minutes, if you were wondering.”

“The coffee better be worth it.”

“You’ll see,” he grinned.
Harry’s POV:

I stared at Skye as she golfed down her coffee, wiping her lips with a napkin. “Wow! This coffee tastes amazing!”

“So, let me get this straight. You’ve never had coffee before?” I asked, watching in astonishment as she finished her large coffee cup in less than a couple minutes.

“Uh, yeah, what’s wrong with that?”

“Well, coffee is a really common drink,” I explained.

She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it as if she decided not to say it. I decided to break the silence; until I saw Katie and her friend Madeline walk in. “Shit! Skye, come with me!” I took her hand and got her and I out of the seat, lugging her behind the bookshelves placed in the coffee shop.

I made sure Katie and Madeline were distracted and talking to the cashier, cupping my hand over Skye’s mouth until they left the coffee shop. “Finally,” I sighed, letting go.

“What the hell, Harry?”

I gave Skye a nervous laugh, thinking of an excuse. “I saw Katie and Madeline walk in, and I didn’t want to give her the wrong idea.”

“What happened to this not being a date? Who cares if Katie sees us?” Her voice rose sharply, attracting attention towards us.

“Skye, be quiet-“

“Harry, what are you doing here?!”

Damn it, and it was going fine before Katie showed up.

I turned around and saw Katie and her other friend Madeline with her hips on their hands, their eyes piercing into my soul. “Katie, it’s not what it looks like-“

“Are you hanging around my disgusting stepsister?” Katie growled, growing more attention towards us.

“Disgusting? Don’t insult her like that, Katie. This is why I hate being around you. You don’t realize how sensitive some people are, and honestly, I don’t think this relationship is working.”

Madeline gasped, and Skye tugged on my sleeve. “Let’s go, Harry. I don’t want to make a big scene here,” Skye whispered into my ear.

“I’m sorry, Skye,” I muttered.

“For what?” She asked, holding tightly onto my jacket.

“I'm dating Skye now," I said with pride, knowing that Skye will probably beat the hell out of me after this.

Katie laughed. “You’re dating that mess? Fine by me! It’s your loss.”

She left the coffee shop, and Madeline followed obediently.

“I’m sorry that you had to hear that, Skye. And I’m sorry I had to use that last line as a way to get her to leave-“

I turned around and saw Skye unconscious on the floor, and immediately dialed 999.
Skye’s POV:

“And Katie, Skye and I are dating now,” Harry yelled at Katie, as I stood there, without even a say to argument.

Before I could get mad at Harry, Katie gave us an unexpected reaction to the break-up. Instead of crying, she laughed, and said, “You’re dating that mess? Fine by me! It’s your loss.”

Her words made me feel weak, and I believed the words she said.

Dad was right; the world is a scary place for someone like me. I then immediately blacked out, hearing the sound of my body slowly falling to the floor, and hearing Harry's words. "I'm here for you, Skye."

I miss you, mom and dad.

FLASHBACK

“George, please snap out of it! Your daughter is crying, for god’s sake!” Mom screamed, as I curled into a ball and continued crying, as he repeatedly kicked mom’s knees.

“Daddy,” I cried. “Stop it!”

He stopped kicking mom, and stood there, as he fell to the ground, on his knees. “Skye,” he whispered. “Forgive me. The world is a scary place. Things that happen can change a person.”

Notes

If you were wondering, 999 is basically 911, but in England they use 999. :) (Fun Fact!) Also, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green is a beautiful book. I found inspiration from him. ^^
