These Chapters of Our Lives ~ COMPLETED

You Just Are

Harmony’s POV
“Eeek!” I shrieked and jumped up and down excitedly as I turned off the news. I quickly covered my mouth as I realized that everyone else was still sound asleep. Or was…

“Harmony, shut up. It’s too early,” Niall mumbled into his pillow. After the movie, I guess we all crashed on the couches, or floor, in the same places as the night before.

“Yeah, what’s with all the shouting? It’s not even eight o’clock yet,” Perrie added from next to me. Now everyone is awake, staring at me contently, awaiting a fair answer to his or her disrupted slumbers.

I couldn’t answer them though. I was much too excited for this news that my cheeks were starting to swell up because of my wide smile. News like this just doesn’t come everyday, and I, for one, am elated, euphoric, rapturous… This day could not get any better.

“Is she normally like this?” Diane asked, wiping the sleep from her face.

Harry snapped in my face. “Harmony! Har! Earth to Harmony… I think she’s lost it.”

I squealed again as I reprocessed the news. “I’m sorry; I’m just really excited is all…”

“We get that. You have a joker smile played across your face that looks like it really hurts. Now, spit it out!”

“Well, while you were all asleep, I decided to watch a little of the gossip channel…”

I saw the three… Wait, three? Harry, Niall, Zayn… I guess Louis is with El checking on Hailey or something. Even if Louis had been here, I bet they would all have the same wide-eyed expressions, mirroring one another without planning to.

I scoffed at the three boys. “It wasn’t about you!” Their faces softened up as they let out sighs of relief. I rolled my eyes and continued. “Right then. So I was watching the gossip, you know? Just curious about all of the other stars in this world when the movie scoops came on.

“I was about to change the channel when the title ‘Finding Dory’ was thrown out.”

Everyone groaned. They all new I was on the edge of my seat waiting for November 25 to roll around, but the months were killing me. Every day was the same. I would wake up and expect it to be November already. It’s like I had expected my life to just move in fast forward. I didn’t have anything else to live up to, except Harry… maybe…

“Hey, guys! Why all the poutiness?” Louis strolled into the room with Hailey in arms. “And then there’s Harmony… Har, what have you done?”

“It wasn’t me, Lou!”

“Mhm… And that smiley face of yours isn’t helping your situation right now.”

“Good morning!” El hopped into the room, full of energy.

“Don’t talk to her. Don’t ask her any questions. And do not mention those two words,” Zayn said. He got up and ran out of the room in the direction of the kitchen with Niall in pursuit.

I scorned. “I’m not even done with my story!”

“Two words? Does he mean…” Louis trailed off trying to put all the pieces together.

“Yes, she’s going off about Finding Dory, and I know I might regret this, but Harmony, finish your story,” Harry put a hand through his hair, like he always does when he’s in stress. I wasn’t sure if he was encouraging me in a happy way, or if he just wants me to get on with my blab, but I told them nonetheless.

“Thank you, Harry. Now, as I was saying, they just kind of started talking about the movie. The usual stuff about how everyone is really excited about-”

“And by everyone, they mean you,” Zayn cut me off as he and Niall walked back into the room, their mouths filled with bananas. Perrie nudged Zayn’s ribcage while Diane hit Niall lightly upside the head.

I gritted my teeth and stared black holes deep into their souls. “As I was saying…”

“Can we just cut to the chase here? I’m really hungry,” Louis complained.

“Fine! The movie is rescheduled to come out in August instead of November as planned. Whoop-de-doo,” I frowned.

“What? That’s great!” Niall said. “That means your excitement gets cut off a few months early, and we can all go back to being calm and normal.”

“Ha. Ha. Ha. Define normal, Niall,” I smiled and walked out of the house. I wouldn’t call what I was doing storming out; I would call this getting some air.

I pulled my jacket closer to my body as a draft of cold air hit me. Let’s just say, London got pretty cold this April…

“Harmony! Wait up!” I heard Harry call out to me. I continued to walk on, but his footsteps kept coming closer and closer to me until he was panting heavily beside me. “Why did you walk off like that?”

I shrugged. It’s like one of those times when you feel angry, yet you have no idea why you are. You just… are.

“C’mon. I can tell something is bothering you. We’ve been together for almost three years now. You know you can tell me anything,” he said. His arm made its way around my waist, blocking off some of the cold.

“I- I’m not sure really,” I said, being honest.

“What do you mean?”

I stopped and turned my body the full ninety degrees to face him. “Remember when you came home all upset that one day, and you didn’t talk to me? Then, the next day at breakfast you said you didn’t know why you were angry. You just were?” He nodded. “That’s how I feel.”

“Could it be because we all dissed the sequel to your favorite movie?”

“Maybe… I guess I just felt ignore… I support every single of your guys’ motives and excitements, but every time I try to talk about mine, you all just… walk away.”

Harry sighed, his eyes filled with a gentle sorrow. “Harmony, we don’t mean to ignore you, but it’s all old news. We’re anxious to see the movie as well; it’s a big deal, but we’re all just tired of hearing the same old things.”

“I know that, but I haven’t had much time to do anything else. This past year, I’ve been busy helping all of our friends; I haven’t done anything for myself,” I recall as I think onto my life this past year. As I started to list everything I had done, I realized that none of what I had done was for me. I’m not being self-absorbed here, but I think I deserve a little leeway every once and a while.

Harry stayed silent, simply pulling me in for a hug to bring warmth to my body. I pushed away gently to look into his eyes. My tongue was ready to play off a question that just hit the top of my head.

“Harry, when was the last time we ever did something for ourselves?” I ask.

“Um… Last month-”

“We’ve been nonstop helping plan for Liam and Dani’s wedding.”

“Okay, well-”

“Before that, it was helping with Hailey, before and after her arrival. That was last year, Harry.”

Harry stared directly at me, his mind clearly deep in thought. He finally let out a sigh. “You know, with those big brown eyes of yours, I can’t help but feel even more sad about getting no down time with you anymore.”

I was about to speak, but was cut off when Zayn cam out, yelling about breakfast being ready and to eat it while it’s hot.

“We’ll talk more later,” Harry pulled me into his arms once again, planting a small kiss to my forehead.

~

I waved a sad goodbye to Harry, and the rest of the boys, as they loaded into the van to get to work. Paul was the one driving, so the girls were forced to believe that their men actually had work.

“Looks like the perfect day for a girl’s day,” Perrie said.

“Mani-Pedi’s at Viv’s then a shopping spree?” Diane asked. “Hailey can come along too.”

“Sounds awesome. You in Har?”

“Uh… sure. Can I just borrow some clothes, El?” I ask.

“Of course, hun. Are you all right, though? You seem off…”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I lied, but these girls could all see through my dishonesty.

@Lazylazerpants
I can't believe I just saw your comment! Thank you so much! I honestly don't think this series was that great, but if you really did enjoy it, you'll definitely enjoy my other story, Love At First Type, if you haven't read it already. You don't have to, but it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again! :D

So I spent the past week reading all three of these and I have to say, this was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. Great job!

@ThatRebelUnicorn
It is a compliment, I didn't know what word I should use and I thought "unusual" was the most appropriate :)
that's it! The cliffhanger was perfect though! It worked perfectly!

@Marbleskin
Still not sure if I should take "unusual stories" as a compliment, but thanks! To be completely honest, I completely agree that the ending of Listen To Your Heart was horrible, but I was kind of going for the cliff hanger thing like at the end of Catching Fire, but yeah… it sucked. I'm really glad that you liked the sequel though :D

Being honest, I was mad at the en of Listen to your heart, because to me, it wasn't a good ending. And I was so sad that it was over! Then, 2 hours ago, I realized that you wrote a sequel! I felt so stupid yet so happy!
I'm happy that you give the explanations of everything in the epilogue, what a brilliant idea! When I first read it, I was afraid that I missed it, that I could have skipped a chapter accidentally...
This sequel is amazing, you're still an amazing writer, & I truly like your other story too! Thanks for writing such good things and unusual stories!
