Chapter 6
Niall’s POV:
I woke up this morning with the biggest headache looking around me I realised I wasn’t at home which made me freak out a bit until I recognised the familiar surroundings of Carrie’s room making me sigh in relief, I have no clue how I got here though. The last thing I remember last night was going and getting drunk until I was barely able to walk on two feet. I made my way downstairs into the familiar living room to find Carrie sprawled across the couch looking very uncomfortable which made me feel very guilty knowing she gave up her cosy bed for me, although it was kind of sweet of her. She looked so beautiful as she slept, her small pink lips were slightly parted, and he long eye lashes were even more clear as her eyes were closed. Her chest rose up and down in sync indicating her soft breathing, and her hair fell on her face every now and then as she unconsciously moved it away. I’ve had a big crush on her since I’ve met her, but I’m scared that I’m just moving too fast which in my case I’m not sure is good or bad, but I was scared, really scared of falling in love again, Carrie would never hurt me though right? But I also thought Kristen would never hurt me before. Life is so confusing at times.
Carrie’s POV:
I woke up groggily rubbing my eyes memories of yesterday flooding my mind. I stumbled off the uncomfortable couch to be faced with Niall who wore a confused mask on his face.
“Hey Ni is something wrong?” I asked stumbling closer to him; I am clearly not a morning person.
“I’m really sorry for invading your privacy like this and taking your bed,” Niall said.
“Come here Niall,” I said as he hesitantly came closer.
I put my arms around his waist pulling him into a hug.
“Don’t be sorry, okay? I don’t mind, I wanted to give you my bed, you looked very tired yesterday, and you were crying I can’t just leave you when you’re my best friend,” I whispered softly caressing his cheek with my thumb.
“What happened yesterday anyways,” Niall asked as we both sat down on the couch.
“Well you came inside the house crying and sobbing and you kept whispering the name Kristen to yourself so I took you upstairs and waited till you fell asleep then left the room, by the way I put your shoes and socks under the bed,” I said not wanting to forget where I placed them.
“I-I was crying?” Niall asked in disbelief.
“Yes, do you wanna talk about it?” I asked him for what seemed like the millionth time since I’ve met him. He hesitated a bit then finally gave in, surprising me with his decision. I had expected him to hesitate and refuse to speak about what’s bothering him as usual, but I guess he finally decided to trust me and get it off his chest.
“Yeah,” he whispered softly sending shivers down my spine. I listened to him intently as he started to speak.
“If you didn’t know this, I’m in a Boy band, it’s called One Direction,” Niall started off glancing at me as I took the information in, Niall is in a world famous boy band, I nodded my head to show him that I was listening as he continued.
“I’ve always been single since the band started, until about four months ago, that was when I met Kristen, the first time I saw her, I fell in love with her, she was my definition of perfect, my whole world summed up into one person,” he continued, tears starting to cascade down his face, wow, he really did love her, but then why did he leave her? Well I guess I’m gonna find out now.
“ I took her out then we started dating, but after three months, I found out that she didn’t love me, I found out that she only wanted me for my fame, because she wanted to have attention, and that totally broke me, since then I’ve been crying myself to sleep, right now I’m on a five month holiday though that’s why I’m here back in Ireland,” Niall finished off his story, his voice cracking at the end as the tears started cascading down his face. That’s the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever heard, this boy loved that girl with all his heart, but she was just acting, she was just doing this for fame, she never loved him back, his heart was just a toy in his hands, what people do these days, it’s despicable.
“Hey hey, don’t cry, it’s okay now love, she left you for good, she never deserved you from the beginning, it’s a good thing you broke it off, because now you can find someone who would truly love you for who you are not what you’re known as,” I said grabbing his hand and wiping his tears away with my other. I put my arms around his neck as he put his around my waist.
“I don’t know what I would do without you Carrie, thank you, for everything,” Niall smiled through his tears
“Me either Niall me either,” I smiled back at him.
“Now come on, you need some advil, you must have a really bad hang over” I said helping him up from his seat and leading him to the kitchen, feeling butterflies kick into my stomach when I held his warm, big, soft hand.
