Chapter 7
Carrie’s POV:
Finally my shift was over, and let me give you some advice, never ever think of working as a waitress in your life. I think I was generally feeling happier nowadays, it’s been a month since I’ve met Niall now, and yes Todd still tries to make my life miserable at school, but it’s getting really hard to concentrate on my work because of my small... well actually huge crush on Niall. I just love everything about him, his laugh, his eyes, his hair, his personality, the way he always tries to make jokes to lighten the mood, the way he really loves eating, the way he always scratches the back of his neck when he’s nervous, just everything about him is beautiful, but I doubt he feels the same way so to save myself of being rejected by the only friend I have right now, I’m gonna try to keep my crush on Niall a secret for as long as I can, which will hopefully be, I’m guessing, for a very long time. I placed my apron back on the rack I’ve been placing it on for the past year and made my way out of the coffee shop. I feel really sad that the shop finally relocated. No more holidays for me. I was about to start walking back home when a person wearing sunglasses and a hoodie came towards me. That’s when I realised this is some kind of rapist or mugger who wants to hurt me somehow, I was about to scream until he pulled the hood down, shit, that was Niall, I guess I watch too much action movies.
“Relax it’s me Niall,” the familiar Irish accent chuckled at my behaviour.
“Gosh Niall, you scared me,” I sighed in relief knowing that he wasn’t some kind of homo hobo who wanted to rape me.
“Come with me, I wanna take you somewhere,” he grinned at me taking my hand in his causing electrical shots to run up and down my arm whilst he led me to his car.
“Niallllllll where are we goiiiing?” I whined as he started driving off.
“It’s a surprise,” he grinned from ear to ear.
“Tell meee,” I said giving him my best impression of puppy dog eyes.
“You’re really bad with the puppy dog eyes you know that?” Niall laughed pointing out my failure.
“Thanks a lot Niall,” I said sarcastically as I looked at the road sceptically trying to figure out where we’re heading, but of course with no luck. After a long car ride full of whining, Niall finally stopped the car in the middle of nowhere.
“Niall, you’re starting to scare me now,” I said as he chuckled at me.
“Don’t worry Carrie, just follow me,” he hushed me starting to make his way into.... well I don’t know.
“Why can’t you just tell me where we’re going and save yourself from all the- Wow!” I breathed as I took in the beautiful view in front of me. We were at some kind of beach, and it was breath taking. The soft beige sand was so welcoming, and shells of different shapes and colours were scattered all over it, and the sea glowed in the dark as a picture of the moon reflected on it clearly.
“Niall this is so beautiful,” I whispered as we went closer to the sand and just lied down.
“I love it, how did you find this place?” I asked with bewilderment lacing my tone.
“Don’t ask me, because I don’t even know,” Niall replied to me causing me to laugh.
“Anyways, so why did you bring me here, I’m sure you didn’t just randomly wanna take me on a stroll on the beach at night,” I looked at him with an intent gaze.
“Yeah.... well actually I wanted to ask you a question,” Niall awkwardly scratched the back of his neck blush creeping onto his naturally tinted pink cheeks.
“Shoot,” I smiled at him cheekily as he looked at me nervously.
“I-I wanted t-to ask if you, you w-wanted to become my g-girlfriend,” Niall mumbled softly, taking me by complete and utter surprise.
“W-What?” Now it was my turn to stutter.
“Would you be my girl friend?” Niall asked again, I could feel the nerves raking his body. I sat quietly for a while not able to comprehend his question, I could not believe he’s asking me that, I mean I have a really huge crush on him but I never expected him to like me back, and I was scared of falling in love, what if Niall breaks my heart, or even worse... leave me, but I’m already broken enough. It was very hard, my brain in every way told me t say no, but my heart was screaming out yes, yes! So I decided to listen to my heart, because when I was little every day my mum would tell me ‘Always go with your heart sweetheart, always’. I was about to reply to his question when he spoke again.
“I’m sorry, just forget about it, I know you don’t like that I’m very-,” I interrupted him noticing his eyes fill with tears.
“Yes,” I replied to him smiling and wiping away the single tear that trickled down his face.
“W-What?” He said in disbelief.
“I said yes,” I laughed hugging him and enjoying his warm embrace. I suddenly felt a wave of cold air hit my body causing me to shiver slightly.
“Niall, it’s freezing out here, maybe we should start heading back,” I suggested as Niall nodded his head in agreement.
“Yeah you’re right, but take my jacket,” We both stood up and Niall started taking off his jacket.
“But then you’re gonna feel cold,” I said giving it back to him.
“Don’t worry, about me Carrie,” he smiled at me as we finally made our way into the car. This is the best day of my whole life, I cannot describe my happiness, never ever have I thought I was gonna meet such a beautiful boy and become his girlfriend.
