It was finally Friday, me and Niall have become very good friends over the past week, I’ve been telling him everything that bothers me and he always tries to help me through it. He still won’t tell me what’s bothering him though, and it really worried me, because every day I met him his condition seemed to get worse, his eyes would be even puffier than the last day and there would be even more dark circles under his eyes indicating he hasn’t slept either. I sat on the couch in my living room quietly sipping on my hot chocolate, I don’t know why but I’ve been very obsessed with chocolate since I was little, anything that had chocolate in it was basically heaven for me. I watched the T.V quietly feeling quite bored and un-amused, but that’s usually how my weekends are like so it didn’t really matter, suddenly my door bell rang. It kind of freaked me out, considering I didn’t know a lot of people around here but me being well... me, I went to get the door anyways. I slowly opened the door to find Niall stumbling in engulfing me into a hug as he buried his head in the crook of my neck, I could hear his soft sobs as I stroked his hair. Closing the door whilst holding onto his unbalanced figure I led him to a couch, I could smell the strong stench of alcohol leaking all over him.
“It’s okay love it’s okay,” I rubbed his back soothingly.
“How about you go and get some rest, you seem very tired,” I offered helping him up by putting his arm around my neck and leading him upstairs not giving him a chance to reply to me knowing he was drunk anyways. I couldn’t help but realise he’s been whispering the same name for a while now. He’s been repeating the name ‘Kristen’ for what seemed like the past hour.
“It’s okay it’s okay, now get some sleep alright sweetie?” I whispered leaning down and kissing his forehead like a mother would do to her child. I guess he kind of seemed like a poor little baby right now, so helpless, he didn’t understand anything that’s going on, and everything seemed so complicated and confusing to him at his state. I sat at the side of my bed, stroking his tear stained for a while and whispering soothing words into his ear every now and then until he finally fell into a deep slumber, I sighed draping the fluffy blanket over him then taking off his shoes and socks, leaving the room feeling the tears prick my eyes from watching him so hurt. I’ve always been an emotional person, especially when someone I really care about gets hurt, it tore me apart, I always wished I could feel the pain they’re enduring instead of them if that would make them feel any better. The worst thing I’ve ever seen since my parents death was Niall’s broken state, because he’s the only person I’ve cared about after they were gone, it took me eleven whole years to find someone to become my friend. I wiped away my tears then got an extra blanket and pillow and made my way to the couch considering that Niall was sleeping in my bed tonight. After finally placing the pillow in comfortable position, I draped the blanket around me and fell into a dreamless sleep, full of worry and concern towards my best friend Niall who had cried himself to sleep tonight.
