Cambridge (Part III)

Curiosity

Louis' P.O.V.

The walk home passed by in a total blur. My mind was still reeling when I reached the door of my apartment. I hoped to avoid Harry, as the thoughts running through my head right now about his sister might make it awkward facing him.

What was I thinking? Hadn’t she made it clear she wanted us to be just friends at the beginning of term? Then again, she wasn’t acting like she wanted us to be just friends. Not tonight anyways. I was almost sure that if Lizzie hadn’t have interrupted, she would’ve kissed me. Or at least let me kiss her, because there was no way I would have been able to resist much longer.

I banged my head against the door, sighing as I did. Why did Lizzie have to land home when she did? I really needed to get some sleep and try forget about this whole thing. We had both been drinking, it probably didn’t mean anything.

Opening the door, I tried to banish the thought of the youngest Styles from my mind. However, that was made more difficult when I found Harry sitting on the couch with Niall, eating a bag of chips.

“Hey guys,” I waved, awkwardly, unsure of what to say.

“Rachel get home okay?” Harry asked, and for a moment I had to remind myself that he didn’t know anything about what had just happened. He was simply asking, as a concerned brother.

“Oh yeah, she got home good,- fine, I mean fine, she’s at her apartment now, safe and sound,” I rambled out, wincing once the words were out of my mouth.

Niall snorted, and Harry raised a suspicious eyebrow but then chuckled loudly at my outburst. It appeared Harry had drank a lot more since I had last seen him.

“I’m gonna get some sleep, I’ll see you guys in the morning,” I added quickly, not wanting to spend anymore time in the awkward environment.

“Wait a minute, Louis, I need to talk to you for a minute,” Niall stopped me, before I had a chance to make a hasty exit.

I sat down on the couch, next to Harry, unsure of what else to do. I nodded as a sign for Niall to continue.

“Okay, well as I’m sure you noticed, Eleanor and I kind of –“

“Made out, yeah, I was there, you know, on the couch,” I interrupted him quickly, raising my own eyebrows at him. When he flushed a little I rolled my eyes.

“I really don’t mind, Niall. Eleanor and I have been split up for ages, if you’re into her, go for it,” I added, quickly.

He met my eye, still looking embarrassed.

“Are you sure? I know you two didn’t date for long but she was your girlfriend and I wouldn’t want to do anything that would hurt you, or our friendship,” he replied.

“Relax, Ni, I’m one hundred percent over Eleanor, you have my blessing,” I mocked him lightly, but the words were genuine. Liam had told me that he thought there might be something going on between Niall and Eleanor a while ago and it didn’t bother me at all.

Sure, Eleanor had been my girlfriend for a while but we had been broken up for over two years, there was no unresolved feelings there, at least on my end.

“Thanks, Louis, that means a lot to me,” Niall seemed relieved at my words. “I’m gonna head off anyways, I just wanted to clear the air,” he added as an afterthought, and before long he was out the door, leaving just Harry and I alone.

“So, did you enjoy the party?” I asked, to break the silence.

“Yeah, I did. Not as much as you seemed to, though,” he replied, his expression plain.

“What?”

“You spent most of the night with a goofy grin on your face, you seemed to have a good time,” he explained. I froze at his words, feeling like we were stepping on dangerous territory here. A tipsy Harry was a curious Harry, he had no filter when it came to asking personal questions.

“I’m really tired, I should probably-“

“Was that because of Rachel?” he interrupted me, the ghost of a grin still on his face, showing that he wasn’t taking this conversation too seriously.

“Err, what? Why would you ask that?” My voice came out hoarse as I asked the question, dreading where this conversation was going.

“Well, Delia seems to think you’re still in love with her,” he stated bluntly. “And you did spend the whole night with her, and you guys have been acting weird around each other lately,”

“Harry, I-“

“So what’s the deal? Are you hooking up with my sister again?” he blurted out.

My eyes widened at the question and I felt heat flood to my cheeks.

“No! I’m not – we’re not – nothing is going on between Rachel and me, Harry, I swear,” I rambled out, quickly trying to assure him.

“Do you want there to be?” he fired back, without pausing for breath.

I floundered for a second, momentarily left speechless.

Nothing is going on between me and Rachel,” I repeated, not wanting to lie directly to his face about my not so platonic feelings for his sister.

“That’s not what I asked, Louis,” he asked the question more softly this time, raising an eyebrow. “Do you want there to be something going on between you two?”

“Well..honestly..”

Notes

Okay so this chapter was also meant to switch into someone else's point of view too but then it was a bit longer than I thought it would be and I got tired so its just Louis' point of view but there will be another chapter very soon, in another point of view that isn't very often explored.
As usual, please comment below if you liked this chapter or if you didn't!

Skylar offering to talk to Harry on Rachel’s behalf is adorable! It’ll give her the perfect excuse to get to spend time with Harry alone and she’s br helping out her friend! It’s a win win!
Rachel better not say yes to Ashton! Louis would be so heartbroken! Although maybe the jealousy would be enough to get him to do something about it and they’d finally get together! Can’t wait to see how it all plays out anyways!

Rachel and Louis are so right for each other and if they dont get together soon I'm gonna scream. He's so in love with her its adorable, shes so clearly jealous over Delia, I'd love to see her and Harry have a conversation about the whole situation, maybe even when she's been drinking or something, and she could admit how she feels about Louis to him.
He's being so supportive lately, I'm loving it

gAAAHHH

I'm loving this. So much. Skylar and Luke are finally calling it quits, which NEEDED to happen I mena because Harry's obviously so much better for her.

And is it weird that I'm really liking Delia at the moment. I know she originally wanted Rachel to date Louis because shes into Ashton, but shes being such a good wingwoman, Rachel is clearly jealous and hopefully now she'll finally admit she's into Louis and they'll get back together. Theyre so perfect!!

I'd love to see them share a dance at the ball!!

Soooooo good!

I am soooo a Rachel and Louis Shipper! I love them because they are imperfectly perfect. Like, one of those long going romances that are never the right time or right place... like the movie Love, Rosie, you know? If you haven’t seen it, it is sooo good. I highly recommend it. Anyway, yeah, Louis screwed up... and so did Rachel... and watching them slowly build back up is just... awwwwweeeeee!!!! Skylar and Harry are kinda the same way... although, if you could, maybe touch more into Luke’s mind... maybe a point of view from him... when the whole gang is together... or what if he finally called the two out in front of the whole group? There is no way that he hasn’t noticed or isn’t tired of their chemistry yet.
