Daddy Niall Series

Most people would think that morning sickness would happen in the morning. Right? The name says it all. MORNING sickness. But no. It's all a lie. It's not just morning sickness. It's afternoon sickness, middle of the night sickness, what's that smell sickness, I'm kind of in the middle of eating sickness. You didn't realize just how much the whole world had lied to you about morning sickness. But today had been a good day. There was little to no need for your body to suddenly decide that everything you had consumed that day needed to reexamined and you were thankful for it.

You had been lounging in the other room, reading a book with some soft music playing when you felt your stomach do that very familiar flip. Oh god. It was happening. You mistakenly took a large breath in through your nose and felt your entire body twitch. Nope. That was a bad idea. What the hell was that terrible smell? It was like someone had killed a cow right there in front of your nose and your stomach was not having any of it. Your hand shot to your face trying it's best to keep the offensive smell where it belongs but there wasn't much it could do. It felt as if it was leaking through every pore of your body. You hesitantly walked out of the room still taking breaths the size a mouse would take and went in search of what was making you sick.

"Niall?" You called out as you ventured towards the kitchen where the sound of sizzling could be heard. "Niall? What are you cooking in there?"

He walked casually out of the kitchen holding a frying pan. "Just a couple of hamburgers. Want one?"

The smell. That was the smell. Your whole body gagged with it and you ran to the nearest bathroom. So much for today's record.

You made Niall shower after he finished eating. The smell of that cooking meat lingered on his clothes and in his hair and it threatened you every time he came near you. Later that night while you were cuddled up to him on the couch, his hand resting protectively on your shoulder, you patted his chest.

"Maybe no more red meat for a few days. Okay, babe?"

He chuckled and squeezed you tighter. "Sure thing, Sunshine. I don't need you making me shower every few hours just because I made lunch."

You were thankful that Niall had been so accommodating especially since this whole morning sickness made practically no sense at all.

This was especially true the next day. You and Niall had decided to go out for lunch. It was a rare day where he had nothing at all to do and you both wanted to take advantage of it. The tiny bistro you picked was quiet and secluded, just perfect really. At your table near the side of the restaurant, you both sat, browsing your menus. You read over the choices and your mouth started to water at the thought of a big greasy bacon cheeseburger. But you couldn't order that. Yesterday the smell of a burger had made you practically turn inside out.

What was wrong with your body today?

Niall's jaw dropped when you ordered it anyway the craving for it stronger than the revoltingness of yesterday. "Ya sure about that one?"

You nodded resolutely and when it came it smelled incredible. You tore into it like someone who hadn't eaten in days and in a crazy turn of events you finished your lunch before Niall did.

You glanced at your empty plate to his not quite one. "Someone write this moment down. I'm done before the Mouth of Mullingar."

"Yeah yeah yeah. I'm not eating for two." He said as he took his last bite. He cocked up a brow. "Yesterday a burger made you sick and today you inhaled it." He shook his head. "This whole pregnancy thing is weird."

You laughed. "Tell me about it."

A week later Niall thought he'd surprise you with dinner. You were reading through a baby book on the couch when the door opened and immediately the same smell hit you. You covered your nose and mouth in a rush to keep it away. Niall walked with a bright smile on his face and a brown paper bag in his hand.

"I got you something yummy for dinner!"

You felt terrible as you ran to the bathroom, the need to throw up overpowering you. He looked so proud of himself too. Such a shame. As you sat on the cool tile floor thankful that nothing actually came up because above all else you hated throwing up, you heard the small knock.

"Is that a no on the cheeseburger than?" He called through the door.

Your stomach rolled. "Oh god. Please stop talking."

The door cracked open slightly and one big masculine hand came through holding a large cup. "Chocolate shake instead?"

How did he know? It was amazing. Your belly rejoiced and you grabbed it from his hand, taking a long sip of the cold ice cream. You sighed contentedly. This was exactly what you needed.

You looked up to see him propped against the doorframe a grin on his face. "Well, at least I got one thing right."
