Daddy Niall Series

You looked down at your still flat belly and then at the little plus sign on the test you'd just taken. You let your the palm of your hand slide slowly over the smooth skin, thinking about the coming months and how much your body was about to change. You and Niall had only just started trying for a baby. Two years into your marriage seeming like as good of a time as any. It's only you weren't expecting it to happen this fast and the fact that after only just deciding to try you were already pregnant had sent you reeling just a bit. What if you were a terrible mother? What if you had no idea what the hell you were doing? Oh god. Now was not the time to freak out.

Your head shot up when you heard the front door open and close and a man's voice call out to you. In a panic you grabbed the small white stick off the counter top then quickly snatched the slim purple box it came from. You frantically looked around for a place to hide it. Niall would see it if you just threw it in the trash. That couldn't be the way he found out. You ran from the bathroom and opened the first drawer you reached, tossing the stick and box in and burying them under a pile of clothing all before Niall walked into the bedroom.

"Babe, I was looking for you? Did you hear me yellin'?" He asked as he sat down on the bed and took his shoes off. His skin was sticky with sweat after his afternoon run.

You shuffled your feet nervously and hoped he wouldn't notice. "Oh, were you? I didn't hear. I did just step out of the bathroom, though. That's probably why."

Niall stood up and peeled his shirt off his chest. "I'm going to take a shower. Want to make some dinner and watch a movie with me afterward?" He walked toward you, wrapping his arms around your waist before kissing you softly on the neck. "Unless you'd like to join me in the shower now?"

You giggled as his lips traced over your ear giving you the slightest tickle. You playfully pushed him off of you. "Go get in the shower. You stink. We can play later."

He shrugged and gave you a small kiss. "Your loss babe." He dropped his pants right there in front of you and then walked into the bathroom. You chuckled to yourself as you smacked his ass for good measure. The man did have a nice peachy butt.

You shook your head as you walked out of the room your mind back on how you were going to tell Niall. You wanted it to be a surprise, a good one. You wandered absentmindedly around the kitchen going over ideas. You could maybe start buying baby stuff and see if he catches on. Oh! Or maybe you could get him a father's day card. Wait, where would you get a father's day card in September? No, that wouldn't work. Ooo! You could get him a tiny little Derby jersey with Horan on it! You smiled at the thought of Niall opening up a cute little jersey and the way his eyes would light up when he realized what it was for. Yes, this was the idea you would go with. It would be adorable!

You went about pulling out the ingredients you would need for dinner, singing softly to yourself. The short burst of fear from earlier draining away the longer you thought about how exciting it was going to be and all the new things that both you and Niall were going to experience. So many firsts were about to happen and you couldn't think of anyone better to have them with. You'd just started chopping up some fresh veggies for a salad when you heard Niall clear his throat behind you. You turned around and saw him standing in the kitchen doorway, a small white stick in his hand.

Your heart dropped into your stomach when you realized that the drawer you'd stuffed the test into was Niall's underwear drawer and now here he was with it in his hand.

He quirked up a brow, a small smile twitching at his cheek. "Sunshine? Is this what I think it is?"

Your smile quickly grew, covering your face, when you heard the excitement in his voice. You nodded slowly, tears starting to fill your eyes. "Yup. I'm pregnant!"

Niall's face lit up. He rushed to you, wrapping his strong arms around you and lifting you from the floor in a bear hug. Your laughter bubbled from your throat as he spun you in a circle in his excitement.

"This is amazing!" He breathed out as he set you back down on the floor. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled his mouth to yours. The feel of his lips shooting right through you. He kissed you once more before dropping to his knees in front of you. He lifted your shirt and placed a soft kiss on your belly. "Hey there little one...it's your daddy." The softness in his voice making you tear up all over again. "I can't wait to meet you."

Niall looked up at you from his place on the floor. "I can't believe it happened so quickly!"

You giggled once more, the tears still in your eyes. "Honestly, me neither."

He grinned, his eyebrows waggling. "Must be my strong swimmers."

You put your hand to your face and your body shook with laughter. "Only you would say that right now."

He stood up before you and smiled. "Yeah but you love me."

You kissed him softly, "You're right. I do."
