The Exchange

Rose's POV

"Bye Mom! Bye Dad!" I said as I waved and the taxi drove away with me in it. I was going to miss them so much, but it would be worth it in the end. I was born and raised in Washington, USA, but tonight I'm leaving. I'm going the airport. I will be doing and exchange program for my junior and senior year. I will be attending Southborough High School. "SHS!" The taxi slowed to a stop, and I'm surprised that we are already there. The driver, whose name I have learned is Bill, is kind enough to help me bring my luggage inside. I thank him, and give him a tip. He wishes luck on my , and tells me to enjoy England. I will be living alone in England- I'll have my own apartment- but it is close to family friends my mother knows. I check my watch, and decide to go through security, it's an hour to my flight. I pas through security quickly, and take a seat. Before I know it, I'm seated on the plane and my nerves are flying high. I turn off my phone, and soon they are going through safety procedures. I'm totally a goody-two-shoes, so I intently listen and follow along on my provided pamphlet. Soon, we are taking off, and I fall asleep, because it will be morning when we land in England, might as well to try and beat exhaustion.

*Plane Lands*

I get off the plane, and grab my luggage as quickly as possible. I want to get to my apartment. I catch a bus shuttling people from the airport. I plug in my headphones and listen to One Direction. I'm a huge fan of there music. I don't really like all of the drama that they get into though. No one really knows I listen to One Direction. I didn't really have friends back in Washington, so no one really knew, except my parents, who always go updates when I would buy more 1D songs on iTunes.

I'm soon a block away from my apartment, and I walk over. My first priority will be getting a car. I have saved just enough money to buy the car of my dreams. A white 2014 Range Rover. It's a beauty.

I get to my apartment, and I am pleased with the size. It has a kitchen, bedroom, full-bathroom, a spare room and a cute little living room. I had all of my things sent in advance, and used amazon to send things to my apartment. I am set up in a few hours, and it's only 3 in the afternoon.

I decide to go for a cup of coffee, buy that car, and then find the quickest way to drive to school in the morning. I saw a cute little coffee shop where the bus dropped me off, so I head in that direction. It's a straight shot to the coffee shop, only one direction. I grab a cup of coffee, and call a taxi. I don't know why people these days get Ubers. It's much more expensive, and more annoying in my opinion. The taxi takes me to the used car shop. I quickly buy my car, excited to get it. I then set my GPS, "take me home" setting, and follow the directions. Once I get home, I type in the school's location, and find that it is only a few minutes away. Sweet!

I get home, and it's already 6pm! I find the nearest grocery store, and buy a few essentials, chocolate, milk, eggs, cheese, noodles, fruits and vegetables, etc... I make pasta for dinner and sit down to eat. After dinner, I decide to call it a night. I'm pretty tired. I get my rest, mentally preparing for school the next day.
