Icing on the Cake

I could tell that Adam felt like he was holding onto me for dear life. That’s okay, though, I thought it was cute.

With Adam swung around to my back, still with his arms wrapped around my neck, I started swimming back and forth slowly, at the same tempo as Calum with Anastasia.

After a few moments of hesitation, I could feel Adam become less tense. He eventually started laughing.

We did that for a few minutes, and then both Calum and I placed the twins down in the shallow area of the pool. We let Julia play with them in the water for a little bit while we stayed on the sides of the pool.

After we had been in the pool for a little over an hour, Anastasia was still being adventurous. She tried to go off and swim into the deeper parts by herself. Calum very cautiously followed behind her to make sure she would be safe.

I could tell Adam had enough for the day, so I laid down a towel and let him dry off a little. It wasn’t much longer until Anastasia was done too.

After showering off, we decided to make dinner. After dinner, we were all really tired. Julia went to sleep, but the twins weren’t quite ready for that. Calum and I turned on a movie for the twins and we sat down on the couch in the living room.

Adam crawled up my leg and sat down on my lap during the movie, and Anastasia did the same thing on Calum.

Calum and I sat next to each other on the couch. We put a blanket over our legs, which covered most of both Adam and Anastasia on mine and Calum’s laps, respectively.

Soon, Adam fell asleep in my lap, and so did Anastasia on Calum’s. Calum had his arm around me. I looked over and looked down.

I had a family.
