Icing on the Cake

“What are they doing here?” Ashton snarled as he opened the door to his house.

“I invited them.” Michael said. “We all needed to be together again.”

Ashton just retired to silent resting bitch face. He didn’t really invite us in, but he didn’t slam the door in our faces either.

We walked into his basement. All of his equipment was set up. Speakers, drums, Michael’s guitar, Calum’s bass, my microphone.

The adrenaline of performing started flowing through my veins again. That same adrenaline of doing what I loved. That same adrenaline that made putting up with Megan’s shit somehow worth it in the end.

“From the top?” I said picking up my guitar and putting it around my shoulder.

Michael started plucking strings on his guitar in a simple chorded order. I got ready for my cue to start singing.

“My girlfriend’s bitchin’ cuz’ I always sleep in.” I sang. “She’s always screamin’ when she’s calling her friends. She’s kinda hot though. Yeah, she’s kinda hot though.”

Calum then got up to the microphone to start singing. “My shrink is telling me I got crazy dreams. She’s also saying I got low self-esteem, she’s kinda hot though. Yeah, she’s kinda hot though. She put me on meds, she won’t get out of my head, she’s kinda hot though.”

“Stop, stop.” Ashton said, cutting the song to an end. “This is just too much irony. I can’t.”

“What’s too much irony?” Michael asked.

“Luke, Calum, saying SHE’S kinda hot. No. It’s all a lie.” Ashton said.

“Your problem is that you don’t like gay people.” I blurted out. “That’s why you’ve been such an asshole.”

“You’d know what one looks like.” Ashton said.

“Homophobe.” Calum said, while grabbing my hand, suggesting we leave. And I gladly obliged.

SOME ANNOUNCEMENTS.

Okay, so I've known for a while how I want the story to end, and it's going to have a MEGA huge climax! That won't be for a while, but Chapter 50 will introduce the elements needed for the MEGA climax, and it will also change the dynamic of the story along with adding a new storyline to intertwine and connect the ones that already exist.

I'm thinking that right before I post Chapter 50 I'll give the story some renovations, such as updating characters and previews. I'll also put a face to that bitch, Megan. (I'm choosing someone who's a public figure to look like Megan, and at least I think it will be really funny. Let me know if you think it's funny!)
