Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-Nine
~189~
“Okay,” I said, feeling a moment’s relief but also feeling the relief leave me immediately. “Just because they have enough room for our guest list doesn’t mean they have enough food.”
“It’s all straightened out.” The planner said as she walked back into the room.
“What happened?” Calum asked.
“There was a communication’s error. I saw 150 initial guests, not taking into consideration that each guest could bring a guest. However, the kitchen did not make that mistake, and the seating limit in here is 320, so we are still set to go as planned.”
“Oh thank God!” I exclaimed.
Once we got home from the meeting with the wedding planner, Calum’s phone rang.
As Calum exited the room to answer the phone, I sat down at the kitchen table with the twins as they were eating lunch.
Calum walked back into the room a minute later. “My sister’s bridesmaid dress isn’t at the bridal shop, and it should’ve been there this morning. And Mali works until the store closes so she can’t go there to work it out.”
“Oh my God it’s one thing after another.” I exasperated silently. “Would you be able to go to the store and work it out?”
“That’s awkward, a dress store?” Calum said. "I'm a guy."
“Boys.” I said under my breath. “Fine, I’ll go.”
“Thanks, honey.” Calum said.
"I'm a boy too, ya know." I said half-sarcastically, half-jokingly as I gave Calum a quick kiss and walked out of the room.
Notes
We're getting close to the climax of the story. It'll climax at Chapter 200. I've had this climax in my head for over a year and I can't wait to finally write it! Then it'll be about 10-20 more chapters, and then it will end :/
My heart, Oof.
