Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-Seven
~187~
“We don’t have time to sit here and think about this.” Calum said to me. “This is weird. Should we even be talking about this?”
“I don’t know.” I responded. We were referring to Alina and Ashton’s relationship. “But you’re right. We really just need to stick a pin in this and focus on what’s going on.”
“I agree.” Calum complied. “We’re meeting with the wedding planner tomorrow, and we need to focus on this.”
The next morning, we were meeting with the wedding planner, and we were looking at the venue that the reception would be taking place at.
Decorated, we were able to see what it was going to look like on our wedding night. White and raspberry colors, it looked perfect.
“Just to confirm,” The planner said, “The dinner is chicken kiev with roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, and a red velvet cake.”
“Sounds perfect!” I said.
“And quite delicious.” Calum added. “Now I’m hungry.”
“Perfect timing for the cake tasting.” The planner suggested as we each took a small plate of cake and tasted it.
“Perfect, love it.” I said.
“If we’re all ready to go, I’ll confirm with the caterers this meal for 150 people.” The planner told us.
“150?” I asked. “We invited 300.”
I panicked for a moment while the planner nervously looked through her file of notes. “I have here on my records that the guest list is 150.”
Calum and I looked nervously at each other. “We invited 300 people…”
