Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred Two
~102~
Kyle was right; he was able to use what CP did to get the case thrown out. However, he did advise us that there was a problem with their immigration record and that it needed to be fixed right away, but he was taking care of that.
I started thinking of who the anonymous tipster was that figured out there was a problem with the immigration record. And how did they figure it out?
“Oh my God.” Calum said that night.
“What?” I asked as I walked over to him. He was sitting on the couch in the living room.
“Look at this.” He said.
I looked at the TV and saw a sleazy celebrity news station doing a story about us. They showed pictures of us, Julia, Adam, Anastasia, the three of them being carried into the immigration office and then us walking out. They got most of the facts wrong.
“I haven’t seen us in celebrity news in months.” I said.
“Me neither.” Calum said. “I guess this was juicy enough."
I turned off the TV. “We shouldn’t let them see this.” I said.
“Agreed.” Calum looked down on his phone. “Is it okay if we have Mali over for dinner tomorrow night? She wants to meet the twins so badly but I don’t think we should take them to her place or away from home.”
“Yeah!” I said. “That sounds like fun.”
“Want to barbeque?” Calum asked.
“Sure.” I said. “What do you want to throw on the barbie?”
Notes
As an American, I've wanted to say that for months! *smirk emoji*
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Life, you know. I'm actually in a college play. We're doing Twelve Angry Men and I play the bigot, so basically I play Donald Trump.
FUN FACT: Sometimes being an unapologetic liberal in a town full of conservative hicks feels like being the only human in a zoo.
My heart, Oof.
