04. Like My Mother
Later on that Afternoon
Niall’s POV
I was glad it was Friday. I called in and told my assistant that I wasn’t going to come today, I wanted to be with my family. So I hope everything’s going well there. Besides, I didn’t have any major appointments with anyone anyways.
Jana and I were sitting on the couch, my arm around her as she leaned her head on my shoulder. Her hand sat on my thigh, which I liked. I was wearing some basketball shorts, so it was even better since she pulled the leg up so she could actually touch my skin.
Taylor and Tori were sleeping peacefully in their rooms, nap time was a blessing for me and Jana now a days. We only let them sleep two hours, just so they will sleep at night. We didn’t make Tori go to sleep, we just told her to go in her room and sit on her bed and just watch TV for a while, she usually did except for days like this, in which she’d fall asleep.
Taylor, on the other hand, wasn’t a big fan of sleep, unlike me. I figure its just because he’s little. He was a complete handful at times. Even though he was sweet and adorable when we’re around other people, doesn’t mean he isn’t the devil when we’re at home. I mean, at times he just gets too upset and starts crying like crazy. Must be a kid thing.
“Hey.. Jana.’’ I mumble gently to her as she I turn down the TV. ‘’Yeah?’’ She asks, not moving. ‘’I um.. wanted to ask you if.. you cared.. if I um, went out tonight. With Harry.. guys night or whatever.’’ I say, not really wanting to plain out tell her I was going either way.
“I thought you were going to.. Um.. yeah. I don’t care.’’ She sighs gently. ‘’No.. tell me.. you thought I was what?’’ I ask, wanting to know what she was thinking. ‘’I thought you said.. you would only leave to go to your office.. and that’s all.’’ She mumbles.
‘’Babe.. I just.. I felt like I needed.. a little time.. to myself and all.. I’m not saying I don’t enjoy being here, because I do. Its just-‘’ she cuts me off before I could defend my self any more.
“I don’t care Niall... You can go.’’ She says, leaning up off me. She sits straight after moving a few inches away from me. Fuck. Have you ever tried to compromise with a pregnant girl? Its not easy.
‘’Jana.. please baby, don’t be mad.’’ I say, moving my arm from the back of the couch since she was no longer in my reach. ‘’Leave me alone.’’ She mumbles. ‘’No. I won’t. Not until you stop being.. like this.’’ I sigh to her.
She stands up and walks past me, heading up stairs. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck! All hell just broke loose, she’s pissed. And its all my fault. Fucking great. Just great.
‘’Jana.’’ I call out for as she makes her way up the stairs. She doesn’t answer though. I get up and hurry to the staircase. She wasn’t even half way yet, because she was pregnant and all.
I grab her wrist once I get to her. She stops walking. ‘’Look at me.’’ I mumble. She doesn’t move. ‘’Jana.. look at me.’’ I repeat. Once again, she doesn’t even flinch. ‘’Jana.. baby.. look at me.’’ I sigh gently.
That gets her. She turns around and looks at me, her face is blank. No smile, no frown, no nothing. Just her lips in a straight line. ‘’I didn’t want to.. offend you, Baby. I just.. I wanted to make sure it was completely okay with you before I just up and left.’’ I tell her, no reply though.
So, I continue on, ‘’Jana, I just want to go out with my friend, okay. Its been a while since me and Harry hung out and I thought that maybe.. that maybe you’d understand that. I promise that’s all I’m trying to do.’’ I assure her with a sigh.
‘’You can go.. but under one condition.’’ She mumbles. ‘’Anything.’’ I sigh. ‘’Don’t get drunk.. and you better not touch any one else.’’ She says. ‘’I won’t.. I promise.’’ I tell her.
‘’I’ll have a talk with Harry before you leave this house. Do you understand me?’’ She warns, talking to me like she’s my mother. I nod in response.
But you know what, that’s perfectly okay with me. I’m glad she treats me like a little kid at times. I enjoy being told what to do, and how or when and all that other stuff.
Besides, its sexy when she does it. And it turns me.. a lot.
