That Night…

Niall’s POV
‘’Ni.. baby?’’ I heard Jana’s voice say, but I didn’t reply. I just kept my eyes closed. I was lying on my side, my back facing her. I wasn’t in the mood for anything that was lovey dovey. I wasn’t even in the mood to think about what mood I was in.

‘’Niall..’’ Jana sighs lightly. I just keep my eyes closed, tight. ‘’Why won’t you talk to me?’’ She asks with a huff. Once again, I keep quiet. ‘’Please baby.. its killing me.’’ She whines a little.

I felt a sting in my heart, but I didn’t care at the moment. I was too pissed off and too mad to do anything involving love or sympathy.

‘’Okay.. well.. I’m sorry.. even though I have no idea what I did.’’ She carries on. Why can’t she realize that I don’t want to talk to her right now? I don’t want to talk to anyone, not even myself.

‘’You can fake like you’re asleep and you can’t hear me.. but I know you’re awake… because you’re not softly snoring.. Please.. talk to me.’’ She tells me, but I tried not to focus on what she was saying, even though her voice was filling the silence in the room.

‘’So.. I’m guessing.. you don’t.. love me anymore? Because you never.. act like this..’’ Jana pauses, I knew it wasn’t the end of her talking, ‘’If you tell me.. I’ll understand. I’m just worried.. And afraid.’’

I gulp gently, hoping and praying to God that she didn’t hear it. Because if she did, I knew she’d never let it go. And I’ll be damned. She heard it.

‘’I heard that! Niall, please baby.. just talk to me.’’ I flinch lightly as I suddenly feel her hand on my bare side. ‘’Please. I love you..’’ she mumbles as she gets a little closer, sliding her hand onto my stomach.

‘’Okay... since you’re being mean and won’t talk to me, I’ll just talk to you. I hope you’re ready for our little baby to get here. I know I am. Just a few more weeks.. I bet he’s going to look just like you.’’ Jana says.

I open my eyes, greeting with the pitch black of the darkness. I only opened them because I sorta cared at the moment, just about what she was saying though. ‘’Um.. I was talking with Harry earlier. He asked if he and Selena could come over at Christmas, I told him that we didn’t mind..’’

And then that’s the point when I decided to go to sleep, whether she believed it or not, I wasn’t listening anymore. I didn’t care to fucking listen. I didn’t care anymore.

‘’Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!’’ I heard giggles and squeals that made my head pound. I sigh as I open my eyes, just to get the living Hell scared out of me as I was welcomed with big, blue eyes and that adorable smile that belonged to my little Princess.

‘’What?’’ I smile gently. ‘’Its lunch time! You slept too late!’’ She laughs as she climbs onto the bed, there was a small space between me and the edge. But trust me, she managed to get comfortable.

‘’Where’s Taylor?’’ I ask curiously, usually he was my morning wake up call, and Tori’s too actually. ‘’He’s downstairs with Mommy.. um.. Daddy.. can I ask you something important?’’ Tori mumbles lightly against my chest.

‘’Sure baby, what is it?’’ I ask, hoping she was okay. ‘’Why was Mommy crying this morning? I went to the livin’ room and she was on the couch crying. She was sad.. Daddy. Why? What happened?’’ Tori says.

‘’Um.. I don’t know.’’ I sigh in return. ‘’Oh.. she was talking to herself, but I couldn’t understand cus she was crying.’’ Tori tells me. ‘’Okay. Well, enough about Mommy… why’d you wake me up?’’ I smile as she looks up at me.

‘’ ‘Cause! I wanted to play hide and seek.’’ She giggles. ‘’Oh really? Well, how ‘bout you go hide while Daddy get’s dressed. I’ll come lookin’ for ya, alright?’’ I say. Before I could even blink, Tori got off the bed and dashed out of the bedroom, not telling where she went to hide.

Sometimes I can’t find her.

So I just give up.

Until she comes out like an hour or so later… asking if I was still looking.. so I just lie and say I was. Even though I wasn’t.
