Harry's POV

I watch happily as Amelia sits on the floor with Stephanie as they play with Amelia's barbie dolls. The way Steph laughs and pretends to join in with Amelia's imagination is a beautiful scene to witness. I sip my tea as I Amelia giggles at Stephanie as she continues to play - I've wanted this for too long now.

"I'll go and get my barbie truck."Amelia squeals in excitement as she jumps up and runs heavily up the stairs. Steph smiles as she looks up at me, I smile back.

"You two are beautiful to watch." I walk towards her and she blushes as she looks away.

"Are we going to tell her about us?" She asks and I lick my bottom lip before biting with my teeth.

"Maybe not yet. Let us get used to being around each other more." I smile as she looks at me and nods. Amelia soon comes in with her bright pink truck which has two ken dolls inside.

"Mummy this is my truck that I take them on holiday in" Amelia grins as she excitedly re arranges her dolls. Stephanie glances at me as I stand up and head back into the kitchen.
I was meant to be working today but I've took my holiday day to spend some time with these two. Having Steph back to myself again is all that I want. Before it wasn't that simple we had too much drama wavering in between us and I knew Stephanie wasn't in the right frame of mind. But there's only so.much denying you can take, I can't resist my feelings no more I want Stephanie with me because she is the love of my life.
My phone vibrates and I suddenly reach in and take it out to see Kara texting again.



Kara:
Harry, I use want you to know what I really like you. Our dates have been fun and I just want to see you again. I know you said you didn't want to meet but I thought I'd just put my feelings out there. X



"Harry?" Stephanie says as she walks up to me. I quickly put my phone down and smile as she does. "You alright?' She adds.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Do you want to stay tonight?" I ask and she looks a little confused a try offer. "I just thought spending more time-"

"Yes" She laughs and I smile as she rubs her hands slowly together. "I can cook us dinner."

"Sounds good." I lean forward and kiss her cheek. I pause by her lips and gently kiss them. She closes her eyes as I do, pressing my hand on her back to keep her next to me.

"Amelia" Stephanie mumbles as she parts away from me.

"Amelia." I confirm as I let her go. She smiles with happiness as she turns around leaves the kitchen to head back to join our daughter. I sigh as I take my phone and text Kara.




Me:
I'm sorry Kara but I just want be involved with anyone right now. I'm trying to fix things in my life x




After pressing send, I put my phone down and walk back into the room with my family.

Later that evening once Stephanie had cooked a stunning beef casserole - I never realised she did one as good as that! We say down with a bottle of wine after tucking Amelia up in bed.

"Do you remember that day when Chloe and Lucy caught us out? They brought your shirt up to my room as we left it on the kitchen floor." Stephanie giggles as she looks down at her drink as the memory comes to our minds.

"Yes, that was a fun day." I smirk and she looks up at me.

"It was." She agrees with a shy smile. I love it when she smiles like this - she's so sweet. I like how we've started to reminisce about our past.

"I remember seeing that picture on twitter of you an Niall travelling to London. God the jealousy was painful." I sigh as I can still see the photo now. "I knew I had to get you back. I couldn't lose you to him.

"He is so lovely. But I couldn't love him like I love you." Stephanie words touch my ear and I smile before taking a sip of wine. "You're not the only one who got attacked by the green eyed monster. I hit Amy because of her crush on you." Steph looks away as she mentally relives that moment. Amy, bloody Amy. She was a handful and so frustrating - to just throw Steph aay like she did was crazy. Their friendship was strong until I came along.

"I wish she never tried to go there.." I sigh and Steph nods and shrugs.

"But she did and we can't change that." Steph forces a smile. "Then Naomi brought drama too. Gosh I forgot about her." Stephanie gasps as she looks back at me.

"I know, I think her child must be at school now." I wonder out loud and Steph nods. "Those days feel like a lifetime ago. Naomi and I. ." I shake my head at the thought of her. Our relationship was so toxic. I was a complete idiot back then, the only way I knew how to handle problems was with my fist, I constantly had to protect her and make others back off as she craved the attention. With Stephanie she wouldn't look at anyone else, she was all mine.

"One of my favourite memories is you guys performing together and watching you on that stage your beautiful voice filling my ears." Steph finishes off her glass of wine and then refills it. "I was so proud." She adds.

"I enjoyed it." I smile and she tops my glass up before placing the bottle down on the table. "We were good together. When I first met you I was a completely different guy to who I am now."

"I know" She looks into my eyes and bites her bottom lip. "I was so wary of you at first until you lit those candles at the park where we hung out as kids. That was sweet Harry" Her cheeks turn red as she smiles from remembering that night.

"That's when you knew I was the one." I playfully smile as she laughs and nods. "We've really had a roller coaster ride though haven't we?" I fall more serious and she looks at me - I can see the pain reflect in her eyes as she knows exactly what I'm getting at. "But, we got through it all. You were made for me. I'm a true believer of that." I add and she looks away as she downs some more wine.

"You know how sorry I am. Thinking back to when we were together before Amelia was conceive, we always had something pop in the way - we were tested a lot to see if we were made to be"

"That's true. Look at us now."I grin proudly and I finish off my wine. Steph does the same and I look over to see the bottle is now empty. Placing our glasses on the table, I decide to reach for Stephanie and cuddle her as she snuggles into me.

"I'm so glad to have you back Harry." She sighs as I feel her tighten her grip. I kiss the top of her head. "I never expected this. " She adds.

"I knew we would always find a way back to each other again. It was just working out when the right time would be." I answer and she stays silent. "You know I love you Steph. " I can't believe I have said this and neither can she as she looks up at me with tears in her eyes.

"It's been so long since I've heard you say that." She trembles on her words and I smile as she does. "I love you Harry." The impact of her four words hits me harder than I had anticipated. Before I loved hearing her tell me this, but this time it's different. I feel a whole new level of emotion flowing through me. My heart beats far too fast and my mouth becomes dry with shock.

"I want to be the one that still protects you Stephanie. I want to be able to tell everyone that you belong to me - when that moment comes I'll be shouting it from the rooftops." I laugh and she does too. She shakes her head and sighs as she parts her lips.

"What did I do to ever deserve you?" She asks and I lower myself down to kiss her.

"The list is too long." I smirk and she smiles as she cuddles back into me. Stephanie isn't a bad person - there was a time where I wouldn't have agreed with myself as I just couldn't forgive her for her mistakes. But going back to my history with Steph, I fucked up a lot of times. Thinking about it now, that's kind of what Steph and I do, we fuck up, make up and then just carry on. But we can't continue that, not now we have Amelia and we want to be a family. There will be changes in time and we will be able to be happy - for once and for all.
