Chapter 3 Veronica’s POV
I knew I was dreaming when I saw snakes outside trying to make their way inside my house, I know, I have some pretty weird nightmares. At first I thought I was alone until I saw someone with me. I didn’t see the girls face at first until she turned to face me. She was wearing a tight body hugging dress along with a leather jacket. It wasn’t until she started screaming that I recognized the girl was Glimmer. The snakes were slowly making their way inside the house as Glimmer continued to scream and no matter how much I would try to calm her down, she wouldn’t cope. The snakes finally made their way inside and went to attack Glimmer; it wasn’t until they were all over her body that I finally screamed my lungs out.
I woke up panting as the sun rays hit my blue curtain, increasing the brightness in my room.All you could hear were birds chirping outside my window and my uneven breaths. It was a Saturday morning, so I took my time getting out of bed until I remembered last night’s events.

"Veronica, hurry up it's already ten!”My mother yelled from the outside of my bedroom door.
I had decided to go visit Glimmer again at the hospital and this time I decided to take my mother. After coming home late yesterday, it took her a while to take in all the information I had given her of how I found Glimmer and saved her life. She was very proud of me, and wanted to meet the girl I saved.

I made my way out of bed, taking a quick shower and changing into some pair of black skinny jeans and a purple hoodie. My dark hair didn't dry fast so I decided to leave it down. I added a little of mascara and eye liner like always.

"Veronica, mom said breakfast is ready!"My little brother David yelled as he opened my door and came running targeting my bed.

"Nooo!"I said as I realized his intention. He always liked to come in the morning and jump on my bed making a mess of my sheets and pillows.

"Get out!"I demanded pointing toward my door.

"No! Mom said to go eat”He said as he tried to give me his serious face, but he really didn't have one so it was hard to take him seriously.

“Fine, fine! I'm coming"I said as I grabbed him and started tickling his stomach. He was very ticklish, so he squirmed around until I let him go. He laughed hard as he called for mom while we made our way into the kitchen.

"Good morning sleeping beauty!”My mom smiled; serving me a plate of eggs and sausage and hash browns.

"Good morning"I took my seat next to my brother.

"Is dad at work?” I asked as my mom finished drinking her coffee.

"Yeah, they asked him if he could stay to finish a delivery”

"Oh okay, we'll I'm done lets go”I said giving my mom a smile.

"But you didn't even..." I didn't let my mother finish as I pushed her towards the front door. We decided to walk to the hospital because it wasn't so far. Before arriving at the hospital we stopped to leave my brother with one of the neighbors. After a couple of blocks we arrived to our destination.
The sliding doors opened making a cold breeze hit along with the smell of a clean hospital. My mother entered after me as I went toward the reception.
"Hi, is it visitor time?"I asked as the nice nurse nodded yes.

"Is there anyone specific you want to see?"Her big blue eyes widen as she smiled.

"She's with me"said an unfamiliar voice until I turned around recognized who the guy was. It was Glimmer's boyfriend Niall. I remembered his blonde hair from last night.

“Ohokay, Mr. Horan”She said as she turned to look at us.
“He can show you where Glimmer's room is”

"Thanks"I smiled following Niall down the hallway. He said nothing. I turned to look at my mom and she was busy on her phone like always. Looking at my surroundings I noticed that it was really vacant for a hospital. Niall just kept his pace searching for Glimmer’s room. We went on the elevator to the third floor, where the rooms where a little bigger than usual.
“Is she better?”I asked as he turned to look at me and stopped, his blue hues looked at mine with great intensity. I never really noticed his features: he had almost pale skin with light freckles and blue eyes and a hint of green.
“She’s doing great”His voice was low and non-emotional, making me realize that he didn’t want to have a conversation with me.
“That’s good!”I said as my attempt to say something better failed. I tried to think of a great way to start a conversation, but I couldn’t make out anything.
“Ummm, thanks”Niall said as he fixed his snapback and pointed to the room that was Glimmer’s.
“No problem.”I replied giving him a honest smile as he returned one as well, he held the door while my mother and I entered to see Glimmer in almost full recovery. She didn’t look as pale like yesterday and her mood seemed to be better. Her blonde hair was put into a loose bun as she whore no make-up.
“Hey Glimmer, how are you feeling?”I asked as I took a seat next to her bed.

“I’m doing fine! Just a little tired, but other than that I feel great!” once she said that I thought she was bipolar, but I just nodded and smiled back at her.
“Babe I’m going to the cafeteria, I’ll be right back” Niall said as he gave her a kiss on the forehead making Glimmer flinch. I began to wonder why she reacted like that. I mean, wasn’t that what boyfriends do? Why did she react like that? Glimmer interrupted my thoughts as she noticed my mother next to me.
“Oh, hi there. You must be Veronica’s mom right?” she asked as my mother smiled and nodded. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Glimmers mother walked in. She had blonde and a clear resemblance to Glimmer. She was wearing slim straight jeans with a light cardigan over a blue blouse. Though she seemed happy about her daughter’s recovery, her eyes gave away a hint of sadness.
We spoke for about an hour or so when my mother reminded me that we had to make our way back home.
“Oh wait before you go I wanted to ask you something” said Glimmers mom with a smile. She didn’t wait for us to respond. “Well me and my husband are incredibly thankful for Veronica’s act..and we wanted to give something in return…”
My mother quickly started to turn her down but she continued on “We have connections with prestigious private school…Oakstone Academy, and me and my husband wanted to grant Veronica a full ride scholarship she’d like…” my eyes felt as if they were going to bulge out of my face. It took me a little while to register what she had just said completely.
I didn’t know what to say. I was kind of freaking out inside. My mother on the other hand seemed pretty calm. I have no idea how she did it.
“Oh well… um she’ll gladly take your offer!” my mom said as she gave me a smile of reassurance. I smiled and nodded as a smile grew on both Glimmer and her mom. It took about 20 minutes for Glimmers mom to explain the rest of the details.
Nobody noticed when Niall arrived along with his 4 friends; Harry, Louis, Liam, and Zayn. They heard when I accepted the scholarship offer. Me and my mother were about to leave when we noticed the boys standing next to us.
“Oh erm, hi guys” I said as tried to get away from their gaze.
“Bye Veronica! I’ll see you at school soon!” I smiled as Glimmer said that with an honest smile on her face. I really liked her.
“Bye Glimmer! Feel better and see you soon!” I said trying to make my way out of the room again. But Zayn managed to whisper something to me as I was near the door.
“Can’t wait to see you every day now babe” a smirk appeared on his face as I turned bright red.
My mother and I made our way back to the entrance of the hospital as a sighed a sigh of relief. The way Zayn spoke to me made me incredibly uncomfortable and I didn’t like it. My mother teased me about it, but I made a quick stop to it. All I wanted to focus on now was how I was going to tell my friends about what just happened, because quite frankly, I had no idea how they’ll react.
