The Beginning

Chapter 1

Rose's POV

"Brooke! Come on! Where's Ivy? We're gonna miss our flight!" I yelled up the stairs of my now empty house that my friends, Brooke and Ivy, had shared with me. "Coming!" they yelled in unison, running down the stairs with their backpacks, fully loaded and ready to go. Finally. If you're wondering where we're going, I can tell you, we aren't going backpacking across the country. No, we're moving to London. Not exactly central London, but pretty close. You see, Brooke, Ivy, and I were all abandoned by our parents when we were ten. We had been best friends, and our parents were all knotted together in some sort of love-shape (octagon maybe?). Well, anyway, Brooke just turned eightteen last month, so we're finally able to move out of America, and into our dream house over in England. Don't get me wrong, America's a decent place, but when you have a history like we do, you'd want to leave too.

We walked out to the car, and turned around to get one last look at my child-hood home. "Well," Ivy broke the silence, "Here we go!" We got in the car and I started it, plugging in my phone and putting on some of our favorite songs, starting with "Little White Lies" by One Direction. We were jamming out the whole way to the airport, and when we got there, we checked in and went through security, then boarded our flight. A stewardess came over and offered us some snacks and drinks, but we turned them down. We had seats in the second class cabin, and man was it nice! We had so much leg room and the chairs were actually quite comfortable, well, for an airplane anyway. As we were about to take off, a guy came running onto the plane. He dropped down in the open seat across from the three of us and started fanning himself with his hat. I thought nothing of it then, but he had a lot of tattoos, literal sleeves on his arms. I immediately noticed Brooke checking him out, she's into those kind of guys, so I just rolled my eyes and tried to sleep.

Three hours later, we got off the plane in a Chicago airport (we started out in Washington), to wait for at least two hours. When we finally boarded another plane, the guy sat right across from us again. And, just like before, I ignored him. Little did I know that pretty soon, this guy would change our lives, probably forever.
