This Love

~Chapter 23~

~Luke's pov~

My eyes fluttered open, I was utterly confused to say the least. My vision was blurry and my head hurt, what was going on?

"Luke?" I heard Michael's voice say.

I groaned as a pounding in my head began as soon as I sat up.

"Easy bud." The voice was Calum's now.

"What's going on?" I choked out. My eyes widened as I could make out a purple ness around Calum's eye, but my vision was still blurred, not as bad as before though.

"You were shot in the leg." Calum explained.

"What about you guys?" My eyebrows furrowed. My vision started becoming clearer and I could make out tears running down their face.

"Ashton, Leigh, and I are fine. But Calum has a busted eye and Emily got knocked in the stomach, she lost so much air that she fainted." Michael said with a sigh.

"Are Liana and Zoe here?" I asked, but the room went silent.

"Yea." Calum choked out. "About that..." His voice trailed off.

"Come on Luke." Michael said, motioning to the wheel chair.

The two of them helped me onto the wheel chair, a very difficult task it was. It was in that moment I realized how painful a bullet wound could be.

Once I was finally on, ten minutes later, Calum began wheeling me out, Michael stayed behind in the room. I'm pretty sure that I heard quiet cries. Even though I was fully aware, I was still confused about many things.

He took the elevator up and led me to the, nursery?

"Why are we here?" I questioned with furrowed eyebrows.

"Look." Calum pointed to a very tiny little baby boy, inside a small tube thing. I guess he was a premature baby.

"He's cute." I smiled, the smile wouldn't leave my face, and I almost forgot about the pain in my leg for a second.

"It's Dylan." Calum said, tears filling his eyes. "Your little boy." He choked out.

"How long was I asleep?" I was confused, this was all happening to early.

"Only a few hours." Calum replied.

"He's two months premature." Tears were already streaming down my face, but then I realized something. "Desiree! Where's Desiree?!" I shouted slightly too loud.

Calum let out a sob before lightly hitting his head against the wall on the other side of the hallway. He shook his head repeatedly and let out more sobs.

"Her heart failed while she was still inside Liana, they managed to get Dylan out quick enough before his did too." His voice was hard to understand, but I knew he implied that my baby girl wasn't alive.

"She's d-dead." I choked out, my lap now soaking from tears that drizzled down my face.

"Zoe said that Liana kept bleeding and bleeding, she lost so much blood that she went unconscious. Her hear rate isn't what they consider normal so they keep giving her medicine to keep her asleep." Calum explained. I wish I could've been there for Liana in that situation, but I was too busy beating up and shooting people.

"Can I hold Dylan?" I choked out.

"Not yet, he was just put in there less than an hour ago. They'll let you sometime later today, but you can't hold him for that long of a time." Calum explained.

I simply nodded at that, I could feel no emotions at this point, it was like I was a robot.

My little Desiree was no longer on this earth, and I never even got to meet her.

~Liana's pov~

When I opened my eyes, all I saw was white, where was I?

I realized that I was laying down on a bed, facing the lights on the ceiling. The sound of breathing was heard on the other side of the room, but I felt to tired to lift my head.

"Who's here?" I choked out, my voice sounding croak.

"Liana, you're awake." The voice of my lovely husband stated.

My head slightly lifted and I saw Luke there...on a wheelchair...holding a very small baby.

I felt something strange in my stomach area, it felt empty. My hands found the strength to slither over and feel that I no longer had a bump.

"Are we in a hospital?" I asked, I'm not sure if Luke could hear me though since my voice basically came out as a whisper.

"Yea." He replied.

Since this was a hospital bed, my hands looked for the small remote that could adjust the bed and finally, I was able to sit up.

Luke wheeled over to me and smiled back and fourth at me and the baby he was holding.

"Why is my baby bump gone?" It was the first question that popped into my head.

"It's not there anymore is it?" Luke chuckled slightly, then looked like he was about to cry.

"And why are you in a wheelchair?" That was the second question to pop into my head.

"Do you remember anything that happened on the day that we went to go find Angelica and your mum?" Luke asked me.

"Of course, but what happened?" I was still utterly confused about what was going on here. "And how long have I been asleep?"

"You've been asleep for two days. And I got shot in the leg by Dimitri, but I promise that I'm okay, even though I'll be stuck with crutches for the next month. Also, um..." Luke's voice trailed off as tears filled his eyes. I completely ignored that though.

"You got shot in the leg?!" I said shocked, my voice completely back now. Luke simply nodded, then sniffled. "Who's baby is that anyways?" I questioned, but then what went on right before I got in the ambulance, and after, it came right back into my brain. "DYLAN AND DESIREE?! LUKE ARE THEY OKAY?!" I shouted very loudly, tears automatically began streaming down my face.

"Look Liana." Luke said, looking down at the small child. "It's Dylan." His lips formed into a smiled, he bit one to hold back some tears.

I looked down at my beautiful baby boy, he was way too tiny, it brought tears to my eyes.

"Where's Desiree?" I asked, still looking at Dylan.

"She's up there." Luke said, looking up at the ceiling, letting out a shaky breath.

"In the nursery?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"No, way higher than that, and a lot farther." He was dodging the real answer, which was scaring me.

"Please don't tell me she..." My voice trailed off, not wanting to utter the next few words. Luke broke down into sobs right then and there.

"She looked just like you, they let me see her yesterday." Luke explained.

"Will I get to see her?" I asked, barely being able to speak at this point. Luke nodded before looking back down at Dylan.

"This little guy is all me." Luke looked down at Dylan., letting out a sigh. He kept his eyes locked on him.

Luke got shot in the leg, who knows what happened to the others, Desiree is no longer on this earth, it's making all feeling I've felt in the way past return, just ten times worse.

Tingles erupted on every area a faded scar was found, and I didn't know how to stop it. It was a familiar feeling, but at the same time, it felt so foreign.

My mind set was freaking me out, thine only thing I could think of was how...

This world was just so cold.

Notes

Wifi sucks in New Zealand. Idk if it's just the house that I'm staying at or it's just generally bad but I've never struggled this much to get wifi (insert annoyed emoji here).

If you are a reader from New Zealand I promise you I'm not trying to be offensive haha.
