Year Two

Skylar's P.O.V

I sat nervously on the chairs of Rachel's backyard with Luke, just talking. I had been so happy that he showed up, I completely forgot Harry had been watching the whole thing. Great. He's probably going to hate me again. I let out a sigh, jumping slightly a chair is suddenly thrown next to me and Ashton plopping down on it.

"Well don't you look like a ray of sunshine," Luke teases, our smiles disappear when Ashton frowns.

"What's wrong?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

He lets out a long sigh, before answering glumly. "Rachel knows I gave her the hickey."

I clamp my lips together to stop my laughter, but a small sound must've escaped because Ashton's eyes flickered to me. "Sorry," I mutter, shrinking back into my seat.

"What happened?" Luke asks, leaning forward.

"To say the least, she's upset." Ashton grumbled. "I also may have told her that the kiss didn't mean anything."

I bring my hand up to my face, shaking my head slightly before turning back to Ashton. "Stupid."

"Thanks for the support, Sky."

"You're welcome," I hop off my chair, patting Ashton on the back before going to see if Rachel was okay.

"I cannot believe you guys didn't tell me!" Rachel huffed, leaning back against her wall. I had just explained to her that we had known that it was Ashton all along, and she didn't seem too happy about that.

"I'm sorry, but we thought Ashton should be the one to tell you."

"Whatever,"

"Rachel,"

No response.

"Rachel,"

More silence.

"Rach-"

"What,"

"Look," I say, "Ashton really likes you, okay? He doesn't mean what he told you early."

She bit her lip, looking as if she was arguing with herself on weather or not she should believe me. "Prove it."
