Year Two

Skylar's P.O.V

"My 2 bothers will be there, Ben and Jack, they love to embarrass me whenever they can," Luke rants nervously, biting his lip and keeping his eyes on me. We're currently in a cab on the way to his house, and he seems more nervous than I am. "oh, and my parents are complete control freaks, don't let them get to you. And my dog, Molly, loves to eat your shoes, so don't leave them-"

"Luke!" I laugh, grabbing his hand and smiling. "it'll be alright, calm down"

"Okay," he breaths out, kissing my check before running a hand through his hair. "oh my god, we're here!" My eyes finally find his house.


I quickly hop out of the cab and pop the truck to grab my stuff, once I've collected my bag, Luke and I walk to the door hand in hand. I have to admit, I'm nervous as hell, but this'll be good for us. Hopefully Harry can forgive me, he hasn't called or texted me once since he had punched Luke. Which reminds me, the bruise is almost gone, thankfully. When Luke rings the doorbell, butterflies fill my stomach as the door opens and there stood Liz and Andrew Hemming with a small black dog standing by their feet.

"You must be Skylar! Luke has told us all about you, come in, come in!" Liz exclaimed, smiling brightly before pushing the door open wider for us. Once I walk in, I'm immediately hit with the aroma of food and lit candles.

"Here, let me take those." Luke's dad says, taking my bags gently and already making his way up the stairs.

"Thank you!" I shout to him, cringing slightly when my voice echo's through the house.

"Lucas! Where are you, bro?" Two voices said, soon after that multiple footsteps came from where we were headed. Two guys came running towards Luke, tackling him and almost knocking me over in the process.

"Whoa! Careful, don't hurt Skylar!" Luke's voice was muffled by their laughs, making me smile at them.

"So you're Skylar, huh?" The taller one who I assumed was Ben, said. Smirking at me before punching Luke's shoulder. "keep an eye on this one, Lukey boy." And with that, him and Jack ran off, leaving me, Luke, and Liz alone.

"Sorry about that, honey. Even thought they're grown men, they still act like a couple of teenagers." Liz laughed quietly, smiling warmly before placing an arm around my shoulder. "why don't we get you something to eat, I bet you're staring."

~At The Dinner Table~

"Yeah, you should've seen the look on his face when we jumped out behind the wall, it was priceless!" Ben laughed, imitating what must've been Luke's face when they scared him. We were all sitting at the table laughing as Luke's brothers told me stories about Luke when he was younger and how they would always pull pranks on him.

"Okay, okay. I think my girlfriend has laughed at me enough for one night, now if you don't mind, we're going up to the room." Luke quickly pushed his chair back and grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the room.

"Thank you for the meal, it was delicious!" I squeaked out before we made it up the stairs and into his room. "Geez Luke, you just got home! You should go hang out with your parents." I whine, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Fine, you're right," he sighed, quickly kissing me and slipping out of the room. I let out a breath and flop down on Luke's bed exhausted, I quickly find my back and pull out my laptop, logging onto Skype. My mouse lands on Harrys contact, I hesitantly click it and video call him. It rings and rings, but he doesn't answer. I sigh sadly and close the application, deciding to check my tumblr. After randomly scrolling through for a few minuets, Harrys Skype name pops up on my screen, signaling he's calling me. I sit up and set the laptop in front of me, fixing my hair before answering.

"Hey Harry!" I smile once his face shows on the screen, and God, he looked terrible. Bags were under his eyes, his skin looked a pale white, and his face blank.

"Hey." He mumbled back, staring into the camera before looking down. He must be in his room with the lights off.

"How're you?" I ask, keeping my eyes glued to the screen.

"How do you think I am?" He growled, narrowing his eyes. "I feel like shit."

"Oh," I cough out, scratching my neck awkwardly. "I'm sorry."

"No you're not," he rasps, his voice breaking slightly. "if you were really sorry, you wouldn't of gone with Luke. You would've stayed here with me." I stay silent, just blinking at the screen before whipping a tear that ran down my cheek.

"You're right," I whisper, staring at my hands before looking at the screen. "I should be there, but I'm not. I'm here in Australia, with my boyfriend-"

"He cheated on you, Skylar! He doesn't deserve to be your boyfriend." He argued.

"I know," I say, my eyes wondering to the window. "but I love him." Before I could say anything else, the call ended. I sigh sadly and close my laptop, I hop off the bed and grab my bag, taking out my necessary items for the bathroom and enter the one connected to Luke's room. I take off my make up, wash my face, and brush my teeth before exiting the bathroom. I slip off my shoes and clothes, quickly putting on some Pj shorts and one of Luke's shirts before diving into Luke's bed and falling asleep.

"Sky, wake up." A voice whispered in my ear, making me swat my hand at it and rubbing my face on the pillow before opening my eyes. Luke was leaning over me, smiling.

"What," I rasp out, closing my eyes momentarily before I feel the covers being pulled away from me and his fingers poking my side. "stop! Luke!" I scream, laughing and curling into a ball trying to hit his hands away. "I'm up!"

Once getting ready in some shorts, crop top, and vans, I applied mascara, straightened my hair and headed down stairs to be greeted by Luke. I glare slightly at him before sitting down next to him and grabbing his orange juice, quickly downing it and smiling happily at his horrified face.

"You drank my orange juice!" Luke screeched, slapping his palms to his face and letting out a gasp.

"That's what you get for waking me up so rudely," I laugh, feeling my phone buzz in my pocket. I pull it out and see Ashton's name flashing on the screen. "hold up," I hop off the chair and enter the living room and answer the call. "Hello?"

"Sky, I'm freaking out!" Ashton yelled into the phone, making me pull it away from my face and shake my head. I hesitantly put it back.

"Why?" I ask, leaning up against the wall and smiling at the pictures of Luke.

"I'm going to Rachel's house later for dinner, and I don't know what to wear!" He said even louder, making me groan.

"Ash, chill. Okay?" I say. "look, wear something nice, maybe a button up shirt and blazer? Oh, and don't wear your ripped jeans, that'll give them a bad impression of you."

"Are you sure? A hundred percent?" He says in a more calm voice.

"Yes, Ashton. I'm sure. I've got to go, but keep me updated." I quickly end the call and head back over to Luke.

"What's up?" He asked, nodding to my phone.

"Just Ashton freaking about going to Rachel's for dinner," I laugh, "so what're we doing
today?"

"Ever ridden a skateboard before?"

"This is the best picture, no, this one!" Luke smiles, holding up his phone to show me the picture he took while I was on his skateboard.


He didn't know, but I had to ride me skateboard everyday to and from school. I was a little rusty, but I eventually got the hang of it. While we were messing around, we got lost and ended up in an ice cream shop.

"Why don't you skate at the college? It'll get you places fast." Luke asked, putting his phone down and raising his eyebrows at me.

"I don't know, I kind of just forgot about skateboarding. But you're right, it would get me places faster. Hey, is there a skateboard shop around here?" I ask, finishing off my ice cream.

"Yeah, lets go!"
