The Way

Sleep Finally

"Any questions?" She asked with a more pleasant tone then anything she had said previously, and an even more pleasant smile.

When no one raised their hand she concluded the rehearsal and told us we were free to do what ever we please.

Since I had gotten to the rehearsal a few minutes late I hadn't had time to hug or even say hello to Harry yet, I took his hand yelled at the others we'd meet them at the restaurant and pulled Harry to his car. Upon reaching it I flipped him to he was pressed against the black covered metal. My lips met him with a very hungry sort of urgency.

"Hello to you too." He chuckled as we pulled away from each other. I wrapped my arms around him laying my head on his chest, taking in his scent. He squeezed me closer to him and laid his head down on mine.

"I think you are slowly starting to take on my scent." He laughed.

"Well, I don't use my shampoo anymore so it could just be that." I smiled up at him.

"That must be why it runs out so quickly."

"Well at least we won't have to buy two shampoos when we move to the new house." I'm still smiling completely amazed by his handsomeness.

"Let's go before they wonder where we are." He opened the door for me and I reluctantly climbed in.

The drive wasn't long. We had rented out the restaurant we went to right after I had gotten my first tattoo, the place where I had encountered one of Harry's nicest fans. It was the same place we went to after I promised Harry I would start eating again, and it was the same place I visited every once in a while when I wanted a good plate of mashed potatoes.

We walked in, hand in hand, greeting everyone though we were all fairly close.

"I guess now is when I'm supposed to say a short something, I guess." Harry started. "Thank you all for coming Lexi and I really do appreciate that you've all come to help us start our lives together." He took a deep breath. "When I first met Lexi, like actually spent some time with her and stuff, we concocted this plan to make all our friends believe we didn't like each other. It was a lot of great fun, and when we told them we had been going out well, the looks on their faces was the most priceless thing I'd ever seen. To say the least Lexi, you make me more happy then anything in my life, you've made me a better man and companion and you really have changed my life. Words aren't enough to thank God how blessed I am, now that you're in my life. Thank you." He then look to my parents, who, by some black magic, had been sitting next to each other. "Mr. and Ms. Edwards, you're daughter is the best thing to have ever happened to me and I just want to thank you for letting her and I join our families together." Then he looked to his own parents. "And last but, by no means least. Thank you mum and dad for arranging all this, finding out Lexi's favorite sit down place, that was very nice. I love you guys and-" He sucked in a shallow breath. "It just means a lot, that you would do all this for me." A tear fell down his face as he quickly sat down. Our guest lifted their glasses and toasted to our parents and then began talking amongst themselves again.

Soon Harry and I went around talking with various parts of our families. Saying hello, and thanking them in person so flying in to attend the wedding. When they left just the boys, girls and our parents were left. That's when Harry and I went to the car and retrieved the gifts we had for them.

"Harry and I got you guys some things-"

"We know it's not much, but we really do truly thank you all for all that you've done to help us put it all together." Harry finished.

"For our Moms," I took two small velvet boxes out of the bag. "A diamond necklace for each of you." They opened the boxes and tears fell from their eyes.

"For our Dads," Harry took two cards from a envelope. "Mr. Edwards we got you this gift card to the music store down the street, I think Lexi wants you to get a new guitar. And dad, a gift card for the golf course down the street." We smile at our parents, they hugged us and then hugged each other.

"You can call me mom, Lexi." Anne told me in our embrace. And that begun the, what felt like a trade off of, "You can call me mom/dad, now" from each set. We scooted them out of the food establishment leaving just our group of friends.

"Here it is the moment you all have been waiting for." I joked. Harry and I lifted the different colored gift bags from the big bad and handed them each a bag. They opened them and looked confused.

"I've already got some of these." Liam spoke up.

"Yes we know some of you have some, but this was a gift from us to you for being such great friends. You're to wear them at the wedding, Harry and I got purple ones, we're wearing them and-"

"We're all going to look super rad."

"When you guys are married will you finish each other sentences all the time?" Niall groaned

"No, I hope not." I answered him.

"What's wrong with finishing each others sentences?" Harry whined.

"It's a bit annoying..." I trailed off. The boys laughed at Harry for thinking it was cute. "Sorry, it was kind of funny at first, but then you just kept doing it and well..." I shrugged looking up at him. He pouted and crossed his arms over his chest. "Sorry."

"Well thanks guys, that was really kind of you." Perrie came and hugged us, changing the subject.

"Yes yes, thanks for the shoes, nooww," El pried my hand out of Harry's. "We have got some girls night fun time for tonight and tomorrow."

"But-" I protested.

"Nope, the next time you see him, he will be at the end of the isle waiting to marry you." She pulled me away from him. I wiggled out of her grasp hugging and kissing Harry.

"I'll miss you." I whispered into his ear. He smiled while I was pulled away yet again.

"By Lexi!" Louis and the rest of the boys cooed after me, waving.

"By guys!" I waved back.

We were driving, back to the house when we passed the mall.

"Do you think the mall is still open?" I wondered out loud. They all looked at me confused.

"Yeah, I think it's open for a few more hours." Dani spoke up.

I'd been thinking about the wedding night for a while now, actually I'd been thinking about the whole honey moon and how I wanted to spend every single part of it. I thought about how I wanted to look and a thought came to me about going and getting some lingerie, hence Victoria Secret.

"What do you want at the mall?" Perrie asked.

"Uh, I'm just, uh just to... there's a sale at Victoria Secret." I bit my lip and felt my face get red.

"Picking up some clothes for the honeymoon?" El asked suspiciously.

"I was thinking so, yeah."

"You are so red right now." Perrie giggled.

El turned into the parking lot and parked.

"Come on let's just get the things." I was the first out of the car and half way across the parking lot before they caught on that I was on a mission.

We ended up getting a matching pair of panties along with different silk and lace gown things. We all bought things so I didn't feel so out of place.

"Thanks for spending your hard earned money on silly outfit things." I wrapped them under my arms and tugged them along.

"Anything to help you out." El laughed and ruffled my hair. "Now I suppose we should go home and get some sleep so Lexi here doesn't look all tired at the wedding."

We went straight to the house put the mattresses on the floor in the living room put on our pajamas and went to sleep. We snuggled together for what would be my second to last night of girl nights. I would miss it because it made me feel twelve again, and nothing is better then feeling half your age.

The next morning I woke to the smell of waffles and blueberries. Eleanor and I laid next to each other on the mattress, the sun shinning bright through the curtains. The clock on the wall said eleven thirty. I stretched and yawned before speaking.

"Wow, half the day nearly over."

"We thought we'd let you sleep considering we know you'll have troubles with it tonight." I smiled as Dani and Perrie came back into the room with a pile of food on a tray.

"Are those waffles?" Eleanor spoke her eyes remaining shut.

"They've got blueberries in them." I pulled my plate past her face, and her eyes shot open.
The rest of my last day of single hood was spent hanging out some more. Getting as much time with them was important to me especially because they had all taken so much time off to hang out with me. Perrie came home early so she could be here for me. I loved them almost more then I loved Harry.

And like Dani had guessed, I slept terribly the next night. I was giving up my life to join Harry's. I was going to be forever the one the famous Harry Styles of One Direction picked. Suddenly I felt a lot of pressure. No one ever had thought I was good enough for him accept him and his family. My family thought I was too good for him. El had always thought I was perfect for him.
Though I'd been living with him for the last year and a half, one of which he spent away on tour, it would be strange living with only him.

My mind raced as every possibility went through my head. Both our parents had divorces, which meant Harry and I were doomed from the beginning. He would be away more then he would be here, he would have more then enough chances to cheat on me. He could die in a tour bus accident, or I could get mugged her on the streets. Why had these things decided to fly through my head now, only God knew.

Half way through the night when I hadn't felt my eyes get heavy I flipped my light on. As I reached my arm to flip the light on I remembered my tattoo. Not the first one I got, not the bible verse, the other thing I tried to live my life by, Everything is going to be all right.
I read it and instantly my eyes drooped and the light burned my eyes. Sleep finally.
