Niall

My brain felt like it was going into melt down, I stepped backwards from the boys suddenly afraid, not of the one that was staring at ground were the crack had been, but the one that watching me closely.

I felt like I was being X-rayed, the one that was looking at me, trying to figure me out, like I was some sort of new exiting puzzle piece.

He was paler than the other boy and looked slightly Italian, he was shorter than the other boy but with more muscle, he stepped forward and held out his hand "I'm Nico".

The other boy was a darker skin colour and was not looking at the ground any longer instead he said completely ignoring me, to Nico excitedly "How did you do that? Can I do it to? That was so cool"

But Nico waved the boys questions off "Just a simple ability, I've been doing it for ages, it's not that special" with an air of calmness that was making my head hurt, it was still trying to realise that this guy, Nico had taken out a monster by controlling shadows and the ground.

"You don't belong here" he told me.

"What are you talking about and what was that thing? Look have you seen a girl called Rachel? She's-"

Shock flashed through Nico's eyes but was quickly gone.

"You know Rachel? Rachel Dare?" his voice sounded curious now.

The other boy looked just as confused as I was feeling it helped me to believe that I wasn't completely metal or stupid.

"I'm a friend of Rachel's" I said "My names Niall?" It came out more of a question as I was wondering when no recognition flashed through his eye's, why hadn't she told him about me?

He was probably from that camp, so maybe he was one of her friends?

Every one was friends with Rachel, you couldn't not be friends with her once you met her.

"Why are you here?" Nico asked me.

A reasonable question, I guess.

"I'm Just returning her phone, ok, she left it behind and I guess I kind of followed her, I wanted to know why she kept on disappearing on me, it wasn't being stalker-ish" I quickly added seeing the other boy's look feeling the need to defend myself.

Nico was back to studying me again like I was a science experiment then "Wait you don't know? What you are? Who you are?" he asked me.

I had never felt so confused in my life.

I snapped frustrated "For god's sake! What the hell's going on! What do you mean? All I want is to find my friend!"

Nico sighed then looked at me sadly before opening his mouth only now I wish he hadn't.

I wish some one ran to the rescue and stuck duck tape to his mouth, then booted me out of the forest because it would of been so much better than being introduced to this crazy world.

A world with god's and monsters.

A world that I could never settle in.

A world full of secrets and forbidding truths.
