Chapter Thirty-Five

Harry’s POV

“How is everything?” Louis says on the phone. I glare at him with envy that he is even talking to the girls, and not let me. “That’s good. Are you two on your way back? I got Amber’s text.” He responds, pulling out my phone, putting in the code and going through it. I jump out of my seat and topple him, reaching for my phone.

“Give me my phone, Louis.” I say. He told me that he would give me back my phone if she responds. He lied.

“Get off of me, Harold. Trying to speak with my lady.” He whispers harshly.“Yeah, so am I but you have my phone, now hand it over!” I try to reach for the phone again but pushes me off with ease, I collide with the floor in pain as he causally continues his conversation, listening to what El has to say.

“Wait, you’re not coming back? Then, where are you going now?” Louis suddenly says, sitting up and getting the other guys’ attention. “You’re going where?” He listens to what she says, slowly nodding. Liam silently asks me what is going on and I only shrug. “Can we come?” He immediately asks in a more serious tone, making me nervous. “Okay, same place as last time? … Okay. Love you too. Bye.” He says before hanging up. “They are at a bar not that far from here and asked if we wanted to go.” He finally tells us all.

“That’s alright.” Liam shrugs.“I’m in!” Niall smiles brightly.

“Sure.” Zayn says.

“Harry?” Louis asks me, as I have still not spoken.

“Of course. But you have to give me my phone.” I tell him, extending my hand. He rolls his eyes and returns my phone.

“Alright, we leave in ten.” He explains as he gets up. We all nod and get ourselves ready.

Once we were set, Louis took the car keys and we all piled in the car, driving off. We pull up to the bar that was all too familiar to me, immediately don’t like the thought of Amber being here. There are too many shady people. Once Louis parked the car we hopped out and I was the first to rush inside. Scanning the room, I see Eleanor sitting with a couple of guys. But no Amber.

“Hey El.” I say as I walked up to her.

“Hey Harry. Guys, this is one of the guys I was talking about.” She tells them as the rest of the guys come and join us. “You remember Louis, right?” She asks them once he wrapped his arms around her waist, taking the vacant seat next to her. They all smile and nod, soon starting a light conversation. I would join, but there are things I need to be sure of.

“Pardon me for interrupting, but where’s Amber?” I ask, trying to be as polite as possible.

“Oh, she went to the bathroom. She should be coming out any moment now.” El explains. I nod and walk to the bathroom, ready to surprise her. I walk past many couples casually making out, the number growing smaller as I walk to the bathrooms. What caught me off guard was the sound of someone screaming. I looked around and saw no one that looked to be in danger. I soon heard a bang coming from the bathroom, making me tense up.

“Amber?! Are you in there?” I ask through the door. I got no response, but heard a different voice muttering.

“Babe? You okay?” I try again. Still no response.

A couple seconds pass and the sound of pain echoed inside, before the door burst open and out came Amber, literally running into me. She had fear written all over her face, making me nervous in almost a heartbeat. I held her waist so she kept her balance, and all finally made sense when I looked inside the bathroom, seeing the man hold his shin tightly and wincing in pain.

“Harry…” I hear Amber say, taking a fist full of my jacket in small her hands, making her look vulnerable. I wrap my arms around her shoulders, she jumped a little bit, but held on tighter. I look back to the guy in the girls bathroom still, just watching us. He eventually realizes that I am staring, and calmly walks out with a satisfied smirk on his face. He stops about halfway down the hall and comes back to us.I take one step forward, but Amber stands her ground, keeping me in place.

“No.” She whispers, resting her head on my chest. I bring up one of my hands and smooth out her hair before placing a kiss on her head.

“Just something for her, I think it she dropped it.” She turns to her head to him slightly, still staying attached to me. If she didn’t I would have made her stay close, move around her to beat him. The look that he gives her is making me really mad. He pulls out a phone from his pocket, her phone, and hands it to her. She looks at it and was stunned.

“T-Thanks.” She stutters, taking the phone from him and putting it in her back pocket. He smiles and nods.

“Why were you in the girls’ bathroom?” I ask him, not sugar-coating it. He looks taken back, and shakes his head.

“Just wanted to return the phone to her, can’t go losing your phone.” He says before walking away, and joining a group of people at a nearby table.

“Are you okay?” I finally say, looking down to check for any suspicious marks. Her arms wounded themselves around my chest, her head nodding against me. I place one last kiss on her head before bringing us back to the table.

“There she is!” Niall shouts, standing up and hugging her.

“Hey, Niall.” She softly smiles.

The rest of the guys greet her before we sit down. I sit in a chair next to Liam, and pull Amber onto my lap. She rests her head on my shoulder and chuckles every once in a while when something funny comes up in the discussion. I rub her back soothingly, hearing her hum making me relax.

I keep my eye on the fellow across the room however, watching him glance over to us every once in a while. The smirk he has whenever he looks over makes me want to walk over there and remove it permanently. Amber shifting in my arms makes me snap back to her, her arms circling around my neck.

“Harry.” Zayn calls out to me. I look up from Amber and see drunken Zayn handing me a shot glass. I shake my head.

“Not tonight, mate.” I kindly deny him.

“Is she tired?” He asks, pointing to Amber. I shrug, wishing I knew what happened in the bathroom and why the hell that guy was in the ladies bathroom.

“Oh, come on… Let’s have some more fun…” El slurs her words, walking back to us with another tray of shots. She sits it on the table and everyone around me takes a glass, and two remain.

“Harry, I know you want to.” Liam nudges me. “Take one. I know you do, especially after what happened between you and” My eyes widen and I quickly clamp his mouth shut with my hand, glaring at him. I knew it was a bad idea telling him. The table goes silent, and Amber slowly removes her head from my shoulder.

“Between you and who?” She asks me softly. God, how much I hate Liam right now.

“Nothing.” I said as I removed my hand from Liam right as he licked it. I wiped it off on my jeans before continuing. “I was just in an argument with my sister, she’s been begging me to get her tickets to a Drake concert, and I kept saying no. She’s been keeping me up at night, but thankfully she stopped.” I lied, my stomach aching more with every word. I hate having to lie. She makes an ‘o’ with her pink lips, soon returning back to her spot on my shoulder. I stare at Liam, killing him in my mind. He raises his hands up in surrender, whispering an ‘I’m sorry’.

Everyone else takes their glass and drink up the alcohol, not caring what just happened. After a couple minutes, Amber suddenly gets up and stretches. I hold onto her waist so she doesn’t fall, and watch in amazement how she reaches over to the table, her shirt rising up slightly on my end, takes a shot glass and drinks it. El and the others cheer, high-fiving her.

“I didn’t know you like to drink.” I mutter into her ear as she returns to me, laying on my chest. I never would have guessed her being a drinker. She shrugs.

“I’m in the U.K., its legal. Why not?” She replies before taking a second glass and drinking that too. This isn’t going to end well.

“Alright, just don’t go crazy over it, I don’t want you throwing it all up tomorrow and hear you complain.” I bargain. She smiles and nods as Niall goes to the bartender to get a couple more beers.

“Is this your first time drinkin’?” Niall asks her once he returned. She nods.

“Yeah, I have to be 21 to drink in the U.S., and there’s also the fact that my parents would kill me if they caught me drinking.” She laughs, causing Niall to laugh as well.

“Alright hotshot. Here, try this.” He hands her one of his beers that were already opened. She gladly takes it and starts to drink it. She doesn’t stop.

“Okay, no need to drink it all at once.” I cut in with a more serious tone, taking the bottle away from her lips when she was about halfway through. She looks at me and pouts.

“Oh come on Harry, let her drink.” He protests, and everyone else agrees with him.

“Please Harry?” Amber pleads with me. She looks at me with her puppy face, the same one that can kill me. I sigh, knowing sooner or later I will regret this.

“Fine. But take it easy. Please.” She smiles and takes it back, bringing it back to her lips and taking small sips of it this time.

We all start to talk and bring up funny stories, and as time goes by they start to visually appear more drunk, even Amber which was really worrying me. I kept drinking soda and eating a couple burgers from time to time, soon feeling the need of using the restroom. After a few minutes of holding it, I couldn’t take it anymore and needed to go.

“Okay, I have to go to the bathroom.” I say as I lift Amber off of my lap and sitting her down where I just was.

“Alright, Harry. Be sure to come back soon, I think *hiccup*” Everyone starts to laugh at her, making her giggle. “Oh, excuse me. I think we should leave in another hour or so. I’m slowly *hiccup*” They all start to laugh again, making her blush. “Getting tired, now go.” She shooed me away, still giggling at herself.

“Don’t go anywhere, okay?” I instruct her and all she does is nod.

“Don’t worry Harry, we got her. You go take a piss, or a dump, or whatever the hell you are going to do in there, toss, I don’t give a shit.” Louis slurs to me before facing Amber. “I challenge you to a chug off. First one to drink this bottle wins, readysetgo!” He says quickly. Amber accepts the challenge and starts to drink with him. I shake my head and head to the bathroom.

The place was getting darker as it was getting late, no doubt around 11 pm already. I walk into the bathroom and did what I had to do. Once I finished I walked to the sink, washing my hands. The door opens, and in comes the same guy that was in the ladies room earlier. I watch him through the mirror as he goes to one of the stalls.

“Finally realized what gender you are, huh mate?” I casually say as I finish washing my hands and walking to the air dryer. I keep my eye on him through the mirror as I walked, seeing him look up at me and smirk.

“Can’t help it. I’m a ladies man. I could be either gender.” He shrugs.

“I don’t think you don’t understand the definition of a ‘ladies man’.” He doesn’t go into the stall and just turns towards me, making me turn to face him.

“You’re that famous bloke, what is it, Harry Styles, yes?” He questions me.

“The one and only.” I smirk at him, crossing my arms.

“I think you are more of a ladies man than I am, what with your long hair.” He comments.

“I like my hair this way, thank you.” I say, ruffling my hair a little bit. “What were you doing with her phone?” I ask again, just in case.

“Returning it. I saw it drop out her her back pocket so I had to go give it to her.”

“And you couldn’t wait for her to leave the bathroom?” He shakes his head. “Well, I think you scared her a bit. Just don’t do that again, alright?” I tell him, not wanting to start a fist fight.

“Fair. How many do you have now?” He suddenly asks me.

“How many of what?” I ask, confused.

“Women. How many do you have to yourself now?” My eyes widen.

“Just one?” I say as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “The same one you were in the ladies bathroom with.” I start.

“You sure?” I nod, obviously. “Then, this wouldn’t happen to be you in the hotel the other day then, right?” He says, pulling out a photo with me and Jessica in the lobby where she kissed me. I reach out for it but he yanks it out of my reach, putting it back where he got it. “It would be a shame if a certain someone saw this…” He plays with the image. He's setting me up, I know it.

“Where did you get that?” I ask sternly.

“I have friends… Do you prefer the one out there or the one in this photo?”

“Don’t even think about it. Besides, she already knows.” I lie, hoping he would have no reason to be near her. He raises his eyebrows.

“So, it wouldn’t be a problem if I walk out right now and show this to her then?” He says, slowly walking towards the door. Well that backfired. I keep my feet in place until he pushes the door open, where I grab him by the collar and push him against the wall, the impact echoing in the room.

“Try me.” I sneer. He starts to chuckle. “What’s so funny?” I question.

“It’s funny, because she and I were in this exact same position before you interrupted us. She seemed to like it a lot, and might I add that she has great curves.” He tells me, motioning his hands in an hourglass. A shock went through me and down my spine, and before I could process anything my fist collided with his face, blood was slowly dripping out of his nose. He immediately swings back, punching my cheek, no doubt bruising it for the morning. I repeatedly punch him until he was on the floor, giving up.

“You better stay away from her or you will be sorry.” I mutter. I give him one last kick before walking to the sink, wiping any blood off of me and walking out. I speed walked to the group and collected my things.

“Whoa, Harry. Something go wrong in the bathroom?” Zayn quickly says, holding onto my jacket sleeve.

“We are leaving.” I say, tugging my sleeve out of his grip and putting it on. They don’t protest and get up and out of their seats, somewhat walking out the door as Louis and Eleanor tell a man that we are leaving.

“Wait, our stuff!” Amber suddenly calls out, turning back into the the bar. I follow her but I was blocked off with a couple men, including the bloke himself who has made a miraculous recovery, carrying the bags from their shopping day and loading it into the back of the van.

“Hey, I won the drinking contest, against Lou, you proud of meh?” Amber shouts. I turn to face her but was caught off guard by her jumping onto me but falling over as I failed to catch her.

“Amber, are you okay?” I quickly asked her, standing her up.

“I’m all good.” She giggles. I let Amber have a piggy back ride on our way out, turning to see the arse walking back inside and smirking at me, showing me the back of the photo. She pokes my shoulders. “I have a question.”

“What is it?” Please don't tell me you saw the photo. Please don't tell me you saw the photo.

“Can we get some ice cream?” She repeatedly pats my hair, making me sigh in relief. I open the passenger door and set her down on the seat.

“Maybe another time, baby. Not now.” I try to say as nicely as possible, the anger was still building up inside of me at the thought of him near her.

“Aww… Okay. I’m not a baby. I don’t want to be a baby.” She pouts. She is so cute when she’s drunk.

“You’re my baby. No one else’s but mine.” Once I buckled her up and checked that all of my drunken friends were in the backseat, I drove us back to the guys’ and I’s hotel, immediately scaring Amber. Thankfully, everyone but Louis was passed out in the backseat at this point.

“Are you kidnapping me??” She shouts.

“No.” I grin. From the corner of my eye I can see her trying to open the window, desperately tapping the top of the window to try and get it down.

“How does this window go down? I know things are different here, so why isn’t this working??” She grumbles. I look over to my control pad and hit the child lock button for the windows, in case she actually opens it by mistake. “Did you just lock the window?” She slowly asks.

“We’re almost there.” Was all I said. She removes her seat belt, alarming me in the process and turning herself to face the back of the van.

“Lou! We’re being kidnapped! Call Har-eh!” She slurs. I laugh to myself, so glad I decided to not get drunk. Louis moans from his spot.

“You bloody idiot, he’s driving.” He tells her. “Now hush. I’m trying to sleep.” He says with an attitude.

“Okay, goodnight.” She whispers before sitting in the correct position.

“Put your seat belt back on, love.” I tell her, keeping my eyes on the road, hoping that the police won't be around to see her like this. Even though there are a couple more streets to go, I want her to be safe.

“But you’re driving. Are we there yet?” She quickly changes subjects.

“No.” I lie. “So you should put on your seat belt.” She mutters under her breath but does as she is told.

“Happy?”

“Very.”

“Hey Harry?” I hum to let her know she has my attention. “I missed you.” She whispers, making me smile and almost forget what was making me angry. Almost.

“I missed you too. A lot.”

“Louis texted me on how you were being a baby when you got here.” I roll my eyes, knowing that he would tell her that.

“Of course.” I say sarcastically. We pull into the back of the hotel and immediately Amber whines.

“You lied, we were close.” She pouts, taking off her seat belt. I shrug and step out, moving to the back door to wake everyone up. They all moan but come out anyways, soon with Amber back on my back. The gang crashes in the living room, but I carry Amber to my room.

“Are you okay with sleeping with me tonight? We have a guest room if you don’t, it’s okay.” I ask her as I open my door, completely forgetting where she could sleep. At this point she was getting to the sleepy phase as everyone else already was.

“I can sleep with you, but just to warn you I haven’t had sex before… Ever. I'm nervous about doing that.” She mutters casually, making me take in a sharp breath and tense up.

“No, no. We won't have sex, especially when you are drunk out of your own mind. I'm not that kind of person, I promise you. Don't worry about it.” I awkwardly say, setting her down gently on my bed.

“You sure?” She asks. I nod with a chuckle, walking to the drawers to pull out the smallest shirt and sweats that I can find of mine before giving it to her. “Thank you. I've been wanting to get out of these jeans all day.” She sits up but falls back down, groaning. “I’m really tired now and my head hurts.” She mutters, getting up a second time and stretching. I walk over to the door to make sure it is closed and locked before walking back to my drawer.

“You can change in here. I’ll change in the bathroom.” I say, taking a pair of sweats only and walking to my bathroom. “Just tell me when you are done, okay?” I tell her, turning around to face her. She is already taking off her jeans and throwing them to the front of the bed, her shirt already gone, and replaced with mine. Look away, Harry!

“Sorry… Sorry.” I turn away, quickly closing the door, feeling heat rise up to my cheeks.

“It’s okay.” She yells out. Deep breaths, take deep breaths. I exhale, before changing into my sweats and brushing my teeth. “I’m all done!” She says through the door. I finish up and step out, watching her get in the covers all comfortable. I slide in the opposite side of her, unsure if I can hold her or not even though I really want to. We lay across from each other, just watching.

“I didn’t mean to stare.” I start, wanting to get that out of the way. She smiles and shakes her head.

“It’s alright.” She yawns. “Just hold me. Please.” I do as she says and take her in an embrace, soon knowing she is sleeping against me.

“I trust you and all, I just hope that you weren't the one pressing him up the wall.” I say, remembering what he told me earlier. I hope that isn’t the case. Yes, I know it’s bad that I wished it was her against the wall, but I would be more content since I would know that she didn’t do it, especially on purpose.

I feel something on the bed vibrating, so I quickly reached for it and found her phone open, with a message from ‘Andrew’. Anger starts to build up in me as I read it, I turn off her phone before gently throwing it onto the nightstand, using the moonlight as my only source of light. I didn’t hear anything fall, so I did it with success. Amber did stir a little bit at the sound of her phone bouncing but she stayed asleep, eventually with me as well.
