☆ Chapter 8 ☆
*Alex's POV*
After staying in my room for over an hour, i hear my dad return from work, and my mum rambling on to him, about my ‘behavior’
I hear snippets of their conversion like
‘She is rebelling on us Gary!!’ my mum yells at my dad.
‘She is 18 after all, let her be’ my dad fights back. I am glad that he is defending me, and actually backs me up.
After another 10 minutes of hearing my parents argue, i hear my door click open and i pretend like i wasn’t eavesdropping on them.
My dad walks in, and his expression wasn’t the one i was expecting. He doesn’t look angry or mad, he looks.. neutral.
“Dad, you have to believe me, he is only my-“ i start but my dad cuts me off
“Alex, if you say that he is your chemistry partner then i believe you. I know you, i know that you don’t do silly things, and i am sure you will be safe, when you experience those things” i flush of embarrassment, as my dad thinks i was doing those things, obviously cause my mother thought i was.
“But why does mum have to be so hard on me? I am eighteen for goodness sakes, i can’t get my driver’s licence i can’t get my own apartment!” i almost yell.
“I know Alex, but since you are our only child, your mother and I fill the need to protect you. You are our only little girl” my dad says. My heart swells, of how my dad calls me his little girl, but that still doesn’t give my parents the reason to be so over protective.
“Ok dad, and i am sorry” i smile, giving him puppy dog eyes and batting my eyelashes giving him the full affect.
“It ok princess” he stands up from the chair, as i stand up from my bed. He opens his arms for a hug, and so do i. He stops and looks closely at my neck.
“Alex, I- i thought, your mother was wrong, but you are changing..” I stare at my neck, finding a gigantic love bite, which i had no idea was there...
LUKE
“I-i, i didn-“ i try to talk, but no words will fumble out
“I wanted to believe that this guy was just your lab partner, but now that i see this” he shakes his head in disapproval, doesn’t say another word, then leaves my room.
*2 DAYS LATER, MONDAY MORNING*
I do my usual morning routine, and choose an outfit, purposely wearing a scarf since the mark is still there.
OUTFIT
My parents weren’t talking to me as much, and had grounded me for a week. I would have been ignoring luke’s calls, but he doesn’t even have my number, nor do i have his. I would like to keep it that way.
My mum drops me off at school, as she still won’t let me take the bus, and i arrive at school 10 minutes earlier than usual. My mum probably just wants to get rid of me.
I get my books from my locker and start to walk to history

I have seen no luke all day, so i make time in-between classes to look for him. We needed to talk! he said he wouldn't try anything on me, and here i am with a huge love bite on my neck
I look almost in every hallway and classroom but still no Luke, did he not show up again? Like when he found out Ashton took me home, he didn’t show up to school for a week! What a no-show
Speaking of Ashton, i spot him, and decided to be polite and say hello
“Hey Ashton” i chirp
“Oh hey Alex” he gives me an awkard smile, what’s up with him?
“By the way great band practice on Saturday” i smile
“Oh thanks, sorry that me and the guys were still there..” he frowns
“No, don’t be sorry, you guys are actually really good!”
“Surprised?” he asked
“Yea i was, but i really enjoyed your music” i smile again.
He gives me a scared/awkward smile
“Is everything ok?” i ask
“Umm yeah, i just shouldn’t really be talking to you”
“Why?”
“Well, cause Luke has told us guys to back off you” Ashton tells me
“Wait what?” i probably look so dumbfounded
“Well he has told all of us to back off you, cause you will be his, and his only. That night when i dropped you home after the party, Luke was so pissed and thought that i would be stealing his girl” he emphasis ‘his’
By my lack of response, Ashton keeps talking. “Like Luke doesn’t even ‘date’, usually he fucks and goes”
He notices my sour expression to his language so he corrects himself “Sorry umm he usually just hooks up, then leaves. He has never took a girl out, and never had a proper girlfriend”
“So why does, he tell you guys to back of me?”
“Well if you ask me, i think he will just be using you” After Ashton finishes his speech, my hearts sinks. I don’t know why but there was this hope in me that I and Luke could be something. A couple? No, no, remember Alex, Luke doesn’t date, yet alone you, the girl with glasses and jeans. If anyone, he would probably go for the girls with heels, and short dresses and fake boobs and whatever. So why does he try with me?
The bell rings and Ashton says his ‘goodbye’ then walks away.
I thought Ashton and Luke were friends, but it seemed like Ashton was telling off Luke to me
Hmm anyway..
I walk to my next class, which happens to be chemistry which luke and I share.
I walk in and find Marcel ready with his books, neatly organized on top of his desk. We chat for a bit until the teacher begins. Hmm still no Luke
Halfway through class, the door busts open, but i am scared to look up
“Sorry i am late” the voice says, and I already recognise it.
