That Cheeky Bastard...
Aurora's POV
I am sitting at my desk putting old case files into our new system so we don't have to worry about filing anymore. This task is so mundane that a child could do this, but since I requested that I only do desk jobs instead of going into the field I get stuck doing boring stuff. I did not graduate the top of my major to be putting data into spreadsheets. My phone starts to ring.
"Green" I say into my phone.
"Hey, we are going out to lunch no questions asked. I will pick you up at noon." I hear Rose say into the phone. She doesn't have her usual bubbly voice on which concerns me.
"Okay, I will just tell Liam I won't be home for lunch so he doesn't worry. I will see you within the hour." I tell her and she hangs up. Something must really be eating her. She should still be in the honeymoon stage because they have been married for about 2 months now and that would make her bubbly.
I dial Liam's number into my phone and listen to it ring. "Hello?" A voice answers the phone.
"Hey honey. Listen Rose is making me go out to lunch with her so I wont be home till later. Are you okay with Chasity?"
"Yea we are having a blast. You know that kids piano we got her? Well she is loving playing with it. I think we have another musically talented member of the family." I hear Liam say with enjoyment.
"I am glad that you are bonding over your musical talent, give her a kiss for me and tell her mommy loves her. I will see you both later. Love you."
"Love you too! Have fun at lunch. Bye" Liam says and hangs up the phone.
I see Luke peek his head over his computer and look at me.
"What?" I ask him.
"How could someone like you and Liam act like an old married couple when you aren't even married? Hell, you aren't even talking about marriage."
"That's what being best friends for 17 years does to people. I am sure even if we weren't dating we would sound like an old married couple." I say.
"Maybe. So when is Mr. Perfect going to let you do field work again? I miss my stakeout buddy." Luke says as he pouts.
"Never. He doesn't even want me to work. He says that he makes enough money for the both of us so I should just quit my job and stay at home all day."
"Well he is true. He makes plenty of money for both of you. Hell I am sure he makes more money than everyone's salary in this building combined. Does this mean that you are never going in the field again?"
"Probably not. Besides I would have the press all over me considering I stole the heart of one of Britain's heartthrobs." I say truthfully but with a hint of sarcasm.
"You know as much as I hate to say this but maybe he is right about you quitting because we both know that you aren't going to be as effective if you don't have some sort of anonymity when you step outside of this office. Just if you quit you have to stay in touch." Luke says sadly and I know he is right.
"I will stay in touch and I have been debating it for awhile now. I mean what is going to happen when we have more kids. I think I am going to talk to Liam about it when I get home." I say and turn back to my computer to continue inputting data.
Before I know it the clocks read 12 o'clock. I grab my stuff and head down the elevator and I see Rose waiting for me on the other side of security. I go up and give her a hug because I feel like I haven't seen her in forever.
"Hey! How are you?" I ask her
"Not so hot but I will tell you at the café." Rose says as we walk out of the doors and walk down the street to the corner where there is a cute little café with sandwiches and soup.
We order our food and sit down at a table.
"Okay, tell me what's up." I say.
"That cheeky bastard got me knocked up." Rose says aggravated.
"Wait?!? What?!? I thought you didn't want kids" I say confused.
"I didn't, I don't know. I like kids but I wanted to adopt not have my own."
"What does Harry say about this?" I ask.
"Oh he is to the moon and back. He couldn't turn off his smile it is ridiculous. God! I have been married for 2 months and I am 2 months pregnant. I knew we should have been more careful on that stupid honeymoon." Rose said as she rolled her eyes.
"It isn't that bad. Now Chasity can have a friend to play with." I say positively.
Our food arrives and we dig in.
"Yea I guess so." Rose says as she just looks at her soup.
"This is a good thing Rose. You are going to love this baby."
"I know I will, but I am just so annoyed that Harry is so god damn happy, I mean he isn't the one who is losing their perfect body."
"You will be perfectly fine. I don't think that you will lose your body I mean you are a personal trainer so you exercise all the time I don't see you adding fat on yourself."
"I didn't think about that. Oh, but you are coming on the next tour now."
"What?!? Why?" I ask confused.
"Because Harry is making me go because he doesn't want the baby to come and him not be there and since the tour is already set and he has to go so he is making me go and now I am making you go so I am not bored out of my mind. Besides I am sure Liam would LOVE if you were there. I heard he mopes all over the place without you."
"Fine. I will talk to Liam about it when I get home." I say as we finish up our meals. We get ready to leave because we both have to get home. I really have a lot to talk to Liam about.
I walk to the parking garage and grab my car and drive to Liam's apartment. I get there within 10 minutes.
I ride the elevator up and open the front door. There are toys everywhere. We really need a bigger place to live, this is getting ridiculous.
"Liam I am home." I call into the house.
"In the living room." He calls back.
"If I can get there." I say frustrated.
I make it to the living room without stepping on something, I feel so accomplished.
"Hey. How was work? And Rose?" He asks me as I sit down next to him and Chasity on the floor.
"Boring, and Rose wants me to go on tour next time with her." I say to him. Liam's eyes light up when I mention going on tour with them.
"That would be great! I want you guys to be there so much. I miss you like crazy when I am on tour."
"I know we miss you too. I think since Chasity will be a little older that she will be easier to handle at concerts." I say as I pick up Chasity to give her a kiss then I sit her on my lap.
"You don't have to go to the concerts either. You could just stay at the hotels if you wanted."
"Good point."
"Wait! What about work? You can't miss that many months of work without getting fired." Liam points out.
"Oh yea, so I am thinking that maybe you are right and I should quit. I mean I love my job but since the press likes to follow me sometimes that they would mess up some of my investigations and I can't have that happening. Besides when we have more kids then we wont have to worry about getting a babysitter all the time because we never know how people are going to act around you. Remember the one teenager we hired who practically fainted when you opened the door?"
"Oh yea. That was weird. Personally, I want you to quit so you don't have to worry about working, but you should do what you want because it is your life too." Liam encourages me.
"I think this would be the best for our family. I am so lucky to have someone so supportive like you." I say as I lean over and give him a kiss.
"You're the supportive one. I would never be where I am now without you." He tells me as he looks into my eyes. It's amazing how many feelings you can see in someone's eyes.
