Ch 38
Niall's POV
I walked Max and Hannah to dinner.
"Hi, Niall!" Hannah's mom greeted me as I dropped them off. "Are you hungry? You are welcome to eat dinner with us."
As soon as she said that, my mood turned sour. I wanted to eat with them but there was only one open seat, and it wasn't next to Hannah, it was by her dad. But no, that wasn't the problem. The problem was that I would be sitting right behind Austin.
When Amy invited me to sit, I saw him look over his shoulder and scoff.
I realized I hadn't given her an answer yet, Hannah smiled at me and nodded. She had no clue what was going on. But for her sake, I sat.
"Thank you." I smiled and sat.
I heard Austin's chair scoot back and he bumped into me.
"Oh. My fault." He stood and looked at me. Hannah looked at him and rolled her eyes. I clenched my jaw and took a deep breath, he was so lucky I needed to make a good impression.
I looked back at Amy and continued smiling.
"So, how has your trip been so far?" she smiled.
"Amazing! I've never been on anything like this. Quite surprised I haven't been stuck in bed sick."
"You and me both." Brent chimed in.
"You guys are lucky! I was barfing like nonstop." Max added.
"We are at the dinner table!" Amy reminded us. "So, what are your guys' plans for the night?"
"We were planning on going to karaoke!" I said.
"Oooh. That sounds fun! My Hannah can sing and play almost any instrument. Have you heard her?"
"Yes, I have." I smiled. "She's great!"
I saw Hannah blush and smile.
"Thanks."
"Yeah, you should hear her at home! Always in her room recording herself. She especially recording songs by this little boy band she likes."
Hannah's POV
I choked on my spit.
"What's the name of that band, Hannah?" mom said.
"You mean The Wanted?" I said, my hands started to get clammy.
"No! Those little boys who sing that one song. You know the one that goes---"
"Mom, we don't know what you're talking about." I cut her off.
"The song that goes 'Let's go crazy crazy crazy, just for fun' or something like that... One Direction!" She said out loud.
I looked down, not wanting to make eye contact with Niall. It was silent at the table for a while. I looked up to see if Niall had even noticed, he was looking at the table too. He looked over at me with a confused expression. "What?" he mouthed to me.
It was all over now.
