These Chapters of Our Lives ~ COMPLETED

Break for Love

Harmony’s POV
Harry’s phone rang loudly from the bedroom, interrupting our midday cuddle. He groaned in annoyance before running to get it. I stayed there on the couch and waited…

And waited…

and waited….

waited…

Soon, ten minutes had past, and I was wondering who on earth was keeping Harry so long.

“Harry!” I yelled. “Who’s on the phone?”

“It’s… um… Simon! There was an emergency at work that I needed to be informed about! I’ll be out in a minute!” he yelled back.

I huffed and walked to the kitchen fridge and taking out the OJ. I poured myself a decent sized glass and returned to couch, sitting cross-legged sipping on my glass as I waited patiently for Harry.

Five minutes had passed…

and another five…

another five…

Well, this is going to be a long day…

Harry’s POV
I waited patiently by the door for Harmony to walk out. Though we aren’t going any place fancy, she was convinced that she still had to look her best. As if she needed all of the wasted time spent doing hair and makeup. Well, she doesn’t usually cake her face like most girls, but she doesn’t have to try to hard to turn me on.

She walked out a few minutes later looking beautiful as ever. http://www.polyvore.com/date_night/set?id=91805000

“Ready?” she asked.

“Only if you are,” I say.

~

“I am stuffed,” Harmony heaved out a breath and slumped back in the booth.

“Me too,” I say as I finish off the rest of my chips. I look at her in wonder when the text on her shirt catches my eye. “Hey, what does your shirt say?”

“It says…” she grabbed the hem of her shirt extending it out to make it easier to read, “… boy bands ruin my life.”

“Why would you get a shirt like that?” I ask offended.

“Because it’s true,” she giggled. “So what was the emergency at work today that was so important?”

I gulp. “Um… You know… and… that thing… stuff…. And… yeah…”

She sits up suddenly and raises her eyebrow. I swallow back words that refuse to come out. This was definitely not good.

“Harry your shaking; I know you’re lying to me,” she frowns.

Gosh, I can’t lie to her, but if I tell her, she won’t shut up about.

“Look, Har, I want to tell you, but if I did it wouldn’t be anymore special. I will tell you that it wasn’t a work call though. Now just isn’t the right time to tell you…” I secretly pray that she won’t pester me more about it.

“Tell me what?” she leans forward, narrowing her eyes at me.

“It’s nothing bad, I promise,” I instantly say.

“I really want to believe you, but you’re really sweating right now. That’s not a very good sign.”

“Why don’t you call Zayn? He knows what’s happening. I can assure you that nothing is wrong,” I frantically pat down my pockets for my phone and hand it to her. My hands were shaking so much that it almost fell into her strawberry milkshake.

She laughed at my clumsiness and handed my phone back. “It’s okay, Harry. I believe you. If you’re man enough to let one of your best mates talk to me about ‘it’,” she used her fingers to create quotes, “then I can tell it’s nothing serious.”

I sighed and slumped back in my chair. “Good, I thought you were about to kill me or something…” I mumble.

“I wouldn’t have the heart to kill you, Harry. Who else is going to love me for who I am and take me out on not-so-fancy dates just the way I like?”

I chuckle in disagreement. “A lot of people would love to take you out on a date. You might not notice it, but every time we’re out in public, the guys can’t seem to do anything but stop and stare in your presence. It really hurts to know that someone might take you from me.”

“Aw… Harry, I might not notice them, but it’s only because you have my full and undivided attention. I wouldn’t dare dream of being with another man other than you.”

“Aw… I wouldn’t either. I mean - woman. I wouldn’t like any other women. Well, men too I guess since everyone was pretty much convinced I was gay and having Lou’s child and all-”

“I get it Harry. You can stop explaining how your secretly bi to me and we can move on with this conversation.”

“Thank you!” I said. “Wait, I’m not bi.”

“Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt, Harry.”

“Pft… We both know that I’m not bi, and I’m just going to leave it at the. Moving on…”

Harmony’s POV
“HARMONY, GET UP!!! WE’RE GOING SOMEWHERE!!!” Harry shouted in my face early the next morning.

“No,” I groaned and rolled over, stuffing my face into the pillow.

“Come on, Har. We can stop and get donuts for breakfast on the way there. Strawberry, sprinkles… just the way you like…” his voice got quieter and quitter along with his footsteps.

“I’m up!” I shot out of bed.

“Good.” He came back into the room.

“Where are we going?” I ask, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

“The beach of course. Now, put on that new summer bikini and le-go!”

“The beach?!?! It forty fucking degrees outside! Are you mad?” I yell no longer tired. He used his index finger and thumb to show that he was “a little” bonkers before laughing.

“For the record, it’s the middle of April and it’s like eighty degrees where we’re going, so get dressed and let’s go.”

“Ugh! Fine! But don’t expect me to get in the water.”

~

“You know, if you keep bribing me with food, I’m not going to have that perfect bikini body I need to last through summer,” I state as I wipe the sprinkles from the corners of my mouth.

“Are you kidding me? You eat like half of what Niall eats, which is still a lot, and you’re still skinny. You haven’t packed a pound since I first met you, yet you still think you’re getting fat. Even if you do gain some weight, I will still love you.”

“Sure…” I roll my eyes at this cliché moment.

“We’re here!” he says thrill evident in his voice.

I hop out of the car, basking in the glory of the sun’s warmth. The beach in front of me revealed to be deserted, but the sound of the waves crashing against the shore made up for the lack of people.

I lay my towel down near the shoreline and watch as Harry runs maniacally into the waves. I laugh to myself and strip down my cover up. (Her outfit ---> http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=91855905)

I walked up to the rising tide, first testing the water with my foot. The water wasn’t half as cold as I had expected it to be, but it wasn’t exceptionally warm either.

“Hurry up and get in already! Your body will adjust to it,” Harry yelled, already to the point where everything below his neck was underwater.

‘Fuck it!’ I said to myself as I waded slowly into the water. Chills ran up and down my spine as I got into deeper waters.

For some reason, I’ve always hated swimming in oceans. The thought of fish pee hadn’t crossed my mind until I felt a sliver of scales run across my lower leg. I shrieked loudly, backing up into a solid figure, and shrieked again. Harry’s laughter bellowed from beside me now.

“Harry! You scared me!” I pouted, hitting his arm merciless.

“Ow… It’s not my fault you’re scared of seaweed,” he smirked, pulling out the slimy green and brown sea plant from below.

“Ugh! I’m not scared of seaweed; I thought it was a fish,” I reasoned.

“It’s okay. Just admit that you are. I won’t laugh.”

“I’m not scared of seaweed,” I repeated.

“Why are you so stubborn?” he came back.

I smiled. “Well, if I weren’t, what would be the fun in this relationship?”

@Lazylazerpants
I can't believe I just saw your comment! Thank you so much! I honestly don't think this series was that great, but if you really did enjoy it, you'll definitely enjoy my other story, Love At First Type, if you haven't read it already. You don't have to, but it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again! :D

So I spent the past week reading all three of these and I have to say, this was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. Great job!

@ThatRebelUnicorn
It is a compliment, I didn't know what word I should use and I thought "unusual" was the most appropriate :)
that's it! The cliffhanger was perfect though! It worked perfectly!

@Marbleskin
Still not sure if I should take "unusual stories" as a compliment, but thanks! To be completely honest, I completely agree that the ending of Listen To Your Heart was horrible, but I was kind of going for the cliff hanger thing like at the end of Catching Fire, but yeah… it sucked. I'm really glad that you liked the sequel though :D

Being honest, I was mad at the en of Listen to your heart, because to me, it wasn't a good ending. And I was so sad that it was over! Then, 2 hours ago, I realized that you wrote a sequel! I felt so stupid yet so happy!
I'm happy that you give the explanations of everything in the epilogue, what a brilliant idea! When I first read it, I was afraid that I missed it, that I could have skipped a chapter accidentally...
This sequel is amazing, you're still an amazing writer, & I truly like your other story too! Thanks for writing such good things and unusual stories!
