I Won't Mind - Larry

Lou and Harry, Harry and Louis

Louis and Harry and Harry and Louis. It had a nice ring to it, didn’t it? It DOES have a nice ring to it Harry reminds himself for the hundredth time that day. It does because it’s still Louis and Harry and Harry and Louis. Harry tells himself this but he’s honestly not so sure anymore.

Harry and Louis have been the best of friends since they were very young. Ever since a mean third grader took sweet kindergartner Harry Styles' lunch box and first grader Louis Tomlinson shared his lunch with crying Harry. Ever since then Louis has been protecting Harry. He’s been a shield and a suit of armor for Harry to wear. They’ve been inseparable ever since and when Louis purposely got held back so he and Harry were in the same grade, their friendship grew even stronger. You wouldn’t expect them to friends. Harry is shy, naive, and just the sweetest thing according to Louis. According to Harry, Louis is outspoken, witty, and honestly the kindest person in the whole wide world. That’s how they work. Or, Harry guesses, worked.

Harry has been having his doubts. He and Louis have been working so well together for over a decade. He can’t seem to figure out why Louis’s been...different. Harry can’t explain what that difference is, but it’s not good. After he and Harry started college Louis just isn’t the same, at least not to Harry. If Harry says something’s wrong with Louis then something’s wrong, nobody knows Louis as well as Harry and vice versa. An example of Louis abnormal behavior would be just last week. Harry is naturally a koala. He constantly needs to be held and cuddled. Louis was always more than happy to comply with Harry's needs. Except for last week he and Harry were sitting on Louis’s couch watching a romcom (at Harry's request) and Harry, being Harry, went in for a cuddle with Louis. Harry swiftly climbed onto Louis’ lap and plopped himself down. He was tired and just needed a good cuddle. Harry wrapped his thin arms around Louis’ neck and buried his head into his neck. Louis usually would sweetly tease Harry about his neediness but cuddle him back anyway. Instead of wrapping his arms around Harry’s waist, Louis just went stiff.

“H-Harry I can’t see the movie,” Louis stuttered. Harry found this odd because Louis didn’t even like romcoms, let alone like them over Harry's cuddles. Harry removed his head from Louis’ neck and tried to lock his green eyes with Louis’ blue ones. Louis wouldn’t look at him and kept his gaze on the floor. Harry was very confused. Furrowing his eyebrows Harry climbed off Louis lap and sat back down in his former spot on the sofa.

That was just the beginning of Louis’ odd behavior. He didn’t let Harry cuddle him or even maintain eye contact. Also, Louis got more distant and suddenly had plans that didn’t involve Harry. Harry knew it was his fault and he messed up and Louis no longer likes him. Harry went out less and spoke less. His already lacking confidence was deteriorating by the day. Harry’s roommate, Liam, even noticed a difference in Harry. Liam tried to help Harry branch out and feel better. That’s how Harry ended up here. Here is a party that one of Liam's mates, Zayn, is throwing. Here is the place where Harry saw Louis making out with a random girl. Here is the place where Harry’s heart broke in two. Here is the place where Harry decided to make a change.
