Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon

7

Niall woke with a bit of a jolt, feeling movement beside him. Niall turned his head to see Aylie cuddling closer to him. She wore a worried expression as she slept. He frowned, realizing that she snuggled closer because she was having a bad dream. Niall pulled the sleeping girl closer and kissed her forehead. Aylie draped her arm over Niall's waist and settled with a sigh. Niall lifted his hand to her face, caressing her cheek with a gentle thumb. He gazed at her with a pensive look, wondering what she could be dreaming of. Niall placed his lips on her forehead once again, wanting to feel her warm skin.
"Hi." Aylie murmured, waking to the tender kiss from Niall.
"Morning." Niall chuckled softly. "You okay?" He inquired, hoping she would share her dream. Aylie nodded and curled into his body even more. Aylie reached up and buried her hand in Niall's hair. Aylie smiled weakly at Niall as she brought her lips closer to his. Niall grinned and happily meshed his mouth to hers. Aylie caressed the back of his neck with her thumb, like he'd done to her cheek only moments before.
"I'm perfectly fine now." Aylie whispered as she backed out of the kiss. Niall smiled once again before pulling her into another intense kiss. Aylie and Niall laid snuggled in each other contently, kissing passionately. "I wanna wake up to this all the time." Aylie murmured against Niall's lips. Niall ran his hand through her hair and gazed into her eyes.
"I have a plan for you today." Niall informed Aylie with a sly grin. Aylie lifted her eyebrow at the statement. "Breakfast then we have somewhere very special to go." Niall's smile grew. Aylie opened her mouth to ask a question but was stopped by Niall. "No. It's a surprise, babe." Aylie pouted, her bottom lip sticking out at Niall. "I'm not telling you. But I know that you'll love it." He chuckled, kissing the tip of her nose. Aylie beamed up at Niall before he wrapped her even tighter in his arms.

"Niall, where are we going?" Aylie pleaded as she sat in the passenger seat of his car. Niall smirked and ignored her like he had been all morning. "BABY." Aylie whined loudly at him. Niall chuckled but stayed otherwise silent. Aylie groaned and dropped her head back against the headrest. "You are testing my patience mister." Aylie grumbled at Niall.
"You'll love this so much you'll forget that you were ever annoyed." Niall stated, turning the corner with no worries. He looked over to see Aylie was still in her full pouting mode. "Turn on the radio, Aylie. It'll make you forget about it for now. Enjoy the drive." Aylie rolled her eyes but reached over to turn on the radio anyway. Aylie smiled when the music began to fill the car.
"You put this in on purpose." Aylie stated, grinning at Niall. He looked at her curiously. "I love this band." She stated. "I have the albums all over my flat. Poster in the guest room."
Niall laughed, "I don't know if you remember this but I don't exactly go in the guest bedroom all that much." Aylie blushed and stuck her tongue out at him.
"This is the last one I listened to myself. I love The Eagles too." Aylie leaned over the center console and kissed Niall's cheek loudly. He laughed and swatted her away playfully, "Get on your side of the car."
"If I wanted to be on your side of the car, I would be." Aylie murmured in his ear before tugging his hair gently.
"That sounds like a threat." Niall replied smoothly as Aylie slid back into the passenger seat completely.
"You have no idea." Aylie laughed, her eyes flirting with Niall in the most mischievous of ways. Niall shook his head and focused on the road again. "Niall." Aylie spoke with a bright voice. Niall hummed as he kept his eyes on the road; he didn't want to miss the next turn. "Where are we going?" Aylie asked sweetly.
Niall threw his head back laughing, "You'll find out when we get there." Aylie grunted and glared out the front window. Niall reached over and took her hand in his own. "Aylie, would I be taking you somewhere I thought you'd hate or wouldn't have fun?"
"No." Aylie grumbled.
Niall smirked, "Exactly. Just trust me." Aylie rolled her eyes but laced her fingers with Niall's. "Now." Niall exhaled. "Tell me about your week. Anything fantastic happen? Trinnie have any other hilarious things to say about us?"
Aylie shrugged, "Nothing crazy happened. It was actually really boring. Spent more time at work than I actually wanted to." Aylie started laughing, "Trinnie got mad at me when I told her she wasn't allowed to come with me. She was playing the I'm your best friend, we're practically sisters, I should meet your boyfriend game. It was quite entertaining. You should've heard it." Niall laughed along with Aylie as she went through all of Trinnie's attempts to accompany Aylie on her trip.
"She could come with you sometime. I wouldn't mind. I'd actually like to meet her." Niall stated after Aylie finished her story.
Aylie smiled weakly, "I don't know, Niall. Trinnie is a lot. I'm not sure you'd survive a weekend with her." Niall appeared perplexed by the statement. "Do you really want someone barging into the bedroom while we're in the middle of making love just because she's bored on her own?"
Niall made a disgusted face, "No. Absolutely not."
"I promise, you'll meet Trinnie but let's do that in Dublin where I can lock her out of my flat." Aylie giggled. Niall lifted her hand to his lips, kissing her hand softly. "She already thinks the world of you, you know." Niall wore that curious expression again. "Apparently, I laugh more since I met you. I'm more laid back." Niall pulled up to an empty intersection and leaned over the center console. HE captured Aylie's lips between his with a sense of urgency. Aylie cupped his cheeks, wanting to keep his lips on hers. "We should probably stop holding up traffic, baby." Aylie giggled into the kiss. Niall was about to protest, saying there was no traffic but was stopped by the sound of a horn blaring behind them. Aylie burst into loud chortles when Niall slid back into his seat and put his foot on the gas.

"We're here!" Niall announced happily as they reached they're destination. "AYLIE!" Niall laughed, jumping out of the car. Aylie had exited the car as soon as Niall had parked the car. "Aylie!" Niall struggled to catch his breath when he caught up with her. "Silly girl, don't jump out of the car like that." Niall muttered, trying to show his concern. Aylie ignored his agitated statement and grabbed him by the shirt. She kissed him passionately, winding her arms around his neck. Niall happily kissed back, tugging her closer. "Are you happy with your surprise?" Niall inquired smugly.
"Yes." Aylie beamed, holding onto Niall tightly. "I've always wanted to come to a place like this. I never really make it out of the inner parts of the city." Aylie explained, making Niall more proud of his choice. "Thank you, baby." Aylie grabbed his face, placing soft, short kisses on his lips repeatedly. Niall broke the kisses and pulled her into a warm hug. Aylie buried her face in Niall's neck, loving the strength of his embrace.
"Come on. I know you're dying to see this place." Niall dragged her toward the entrance of the park. "Go stand by that sign, babe." Niall said ushering her toward the smaller sign that said Belvedere House Gardens. Aylie nodded, doing as Niall asked of her. "Smile." Niall instructed, holding his phone up. Aylie blushed and shook her head. "Smile." Niall demanded. Aylie pursed her lips, refusing to smile like a tourist in her own country. "Smile or I'm gonna make you say cheese." Niall grunted at her. Aylie broke into a smile at Niall's threat. "That's what I thought." At the last moment, Aylie flipped Niall off. "HEY!" Niall shouted as he looked at the photo. Aylie giggled and ran back to his side. "Let's go in." Niall threw his arm over her shoulders, leading her into the House.

"This place is gorgeous." Aylie murmured as she walked hand in hand with Niall. Her eyes unable to stick to one area for too long. She wanted to be able to see everything. Niall kissed the side of her head gently, happy that she was so taken with their surroundings. "I'd love to live in a place where I could have a garden that is even a fraction of this." Aylie stated as her fingers danced over the petals of a flower. Niall smiled seeing how gently she touched the flowers. It reminded him of how he felt he needed to touch her. "What?" Aylie asked quickly when she noticed the smile on Niall's face.
"You're absolutely beautiful." Niall stated, tugging her closer. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her forehead lightly. Aylie hummed and let her eyes slide closed. "We can make you a garden like this one at my house. I have plenty of backyard for it." Niall informed Aylie with a cheeky grin.
"Niall, I'm only here for a small amount of time right now." Aylie sounded almost disappointed with the statement.
Niall grinned, "All the more reason to have one." Aylie lifted her eyebrow at him. "When you're here, you'll have a place that's just for you." Niall blushed as he added, "Something that will make you want to stay and call this home instead of Dublin." Aylie's heart stopped for a moment but a smile graced her lips nonetheless. Aylie wound her arms around Niall's neck and kissed him slowly. She had zero cares about anyone watching them.
"You are the sweetest man I have ever met." Aylie stated as she caressed the back of his hair with slow fingers. Niall shook his head and released her, wanting to take her through the rest of the gardens.

Aylie giggled loudly when she saw Niall quickly swat a bug away from his face. Niall glared at her playfully. She covered her mouth, attempting to stifle the laughter but she was failing. Niall let go of her warm hand and folded his arms over his chest. He tried his best to fake anger but it was evident in his eyes that he found her untamed laughter more than lovable.
"Oh, you think that's funny, do ya?" Niall asked, his voice an octave deeper than normal. Aylie nodded and pursed her lips, still trying to quit laughing. His reaction to her was making the situation so much more enjoyable. "We'll see how funny it is when I..." Niall began, reaching for her. He couldn't finish his threat as Aylie squealed and ran away from him. "C'mere!" Niall laughed as he chased after Aylie like they were a couple of kids. Aylie narrowly dodged Niall's grasp she turned to the left when he came up behind her. "Ooh, Aylie, I swear." Niall's laughter fueled hers. "Come here!" Niall finally caught her around the waist.
They tumbled down the hill for just a few moments; Aylie's body protected by Niall's firm embrace. Niall made sure they landed with Aylie lying on top of him. His hand slid onto her rear with no hesitation before he flipped them over, tucking Aylie's body underneath his. He gazed down at her with loving eyes, wondering if she felt the same warmth between them. He searched her bright green eyes for any sign that she didn't want to be wrapped up in his arms.
"Kiss me, you fool." Aylie murmured, bringing his face down to hers. Niall happily obeyed her. He meshed his lips to hers softly, almost innocently as they were surrounded by other people. Aylie held his face in her hands keeping their lips connected for as long as possible. Niall grunted when Aylie suddenly elbowed him in the stomach. He fell to the ground beside her and gazed at her with curious eyes. He chuckled lowly when he saw Aylie turn on her side and sit up a bit to speak to the young girl standing next to them. "Hello there." Aylie smiled brightly at the girl who couldn't have been more than ten years old.
"Hi." The little girl was soft spoken and red in the cheeks. Niall sat up on his elbows as Aylie got on her knees to look the little girl in the eyes as they spoke.
"I'm Aylie." She held her hand out to the small red-head in front of her.
"I'm Charlotte." The girl replied as she shook Aylie's hand.
Aylie smiled brightly, "That is a beautiful name." Charlotte blushed and dropped her eyes to her feet. "Do you like the gardens?" Aylie asked her, only receiving a nod in response. "Do you have a favorite flower?"
Charlotte nodded, "I like the pink peonies."
"Oooh, that's a great choice. I like the bright red ones." Aylie smiled warmly at her. "Niall." She caught his attention quickly. "What's your favorite?"
"Roses." He replied swiftly. Aylie and Charlotte looked at each other and laughed with wrinkled noses, like they knew something he didn't.
"So, I'm guessing you're over here because you know Niall." Aylie spoke to the girl with a gentle tone, like she was afraid to frighten her. Charlotte nodded with a shy smile. "He's really very nice. I'm sure you could say hello." Niall quickly sat on his knees to match Aylie.
"Hello." Niall's smile for the little girl was soft and kind. It made Aylie's heart melt a bit.
Charlotte's voice was nearly a whisper as she said, "Hi." She played with her hair, obviously nervous to be speaking to Niall.
"I don't know what to say. Aylie asked you all of the good questions." Niall stated, motioning to the girl at his side. Aylie groaned and pushed him playfully, making Charlotte laugh. Niall began a conversation with the girl, speaking with a gentle tone as not to scare her away. Aylie leaned back in the grass as she watched the two of them talk. Her insides were turning to mush seeing how gentle and kind Niall was with the girl. His smile was genuine, not the forced uncomfortable one she'd seen him use with fans in her previous visits with him. Though, she only saw the uncomfortable smile when the girls were a bit too aggressive. Aylie shook those thoughts away. She wanted to focus on how sweet Niall was being with the girl of only seven as he had just found out. "Do you want to take a photo?" Niall offered to her.
"I'll take it!" Aylie volunteered quickly, jumping to her feet.
"She's got her mum and dad here." Niall stated with a blank expression.
Aylie slapped him in the back of the head lightly, "I'm the photographer." Niall laughed and shook his head. The little girl's mother handed Aylie her phone with a genuine smile. Aylie got down to Niall and Charlotte's level, and aimed the camera. "Big smiles." Aylie stated, her finger hovering over the shutter button. Niall put his arm around Charlotte's abdomen and they both broke into bright smiles. Aylie pressed the photo capture button swiftly. "Gorgeous." She beamed as she handed the phone back to the mother. "Have a good day." Aylie said with a warm smile to the parents.
As Niall said goodbye to the little girl, she couldn't help but picture Niall with children of his own. She decided he would be a good father. He had the kind, loving soul for it as well as the patience. She smiled to herself as she contemplated small kids with his laugh and baby blue eyes. The thought overwhelmed her a bit as her mind had drifted to a place where they shared the children she'd made up.
"Hey, what are you thinking so hard about?" Niall inquired, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"You'd be a good dad." Aylie answered honestly. Niall smiled brightly and kissed her lips with tenderness. It was obviously a topic he didn't want to discuss just yet. Aylie brushed it off and leaned into his kiss.

Niall looked at Aylie with confusion. Her body had tensed a bit and she held his hand tighter as they walked around. He noticed that she was watching something else out of the corner of her eye. He couldn't see what would possibly make her tense. His eyes searched the gardens for something that would give him a clue.
"Are you okay, babe?" Niall asked, giving up on trying to figure it out on his own. Aylie smiled up at him and nodded. He didn't believe her; her smile wasn't as warm as it had been the rest of the morning. "Liar, what's wrong?" Niall chuckled, attempting to keep the mood light even though he was worried.
"Nothing. I'm getting a little tired." She replied quietly. Niall pulled her body against his and gazed into her eyes sternly. "I'm serious." Aylie giggled. "I'm thinking about taking a nap. You are quite an amazing lover, sir." She murmured so only he could hear. Niall's cheeks turned pink and he shook his head. Aylie leaned into him, pressing her body to his in an almost sensual manner. "Let's go home." Aylie made her voice pleading, close to the way she would sound while they were twisted around each other. Niall held her tighter and kissed her teasingly.
Aylie's heart was racing as she tried to convince Niall to return to his house. The eyes that she had noticed following them were making her uncomfortable. She knew the men the eyes were attached to. She wanted nothing to do with them. Aylie wanted to be wrapped up in the man that she had missed all week. She wanted fun and lack of obligations, to work and family.
"Baby, I might die if we don't get home soon." Aylie purred in Niall's ear. His grip on her waist tightened as she began to caress his hip with her thumb. "Please." Aylie begged quietly, wanting Niall to be an utter mess and willing to go home. Aylie flicked her eyes back to the men she wanted to avoid. Both of them were appearing unassuming but Aylie knew. She knew that they were there to check on her, or at least see why she wasn't answering her phone. Aylie buried her face in Niall's neck. She made it look like they were in a loving hug when she was really nipping and lapping at his neck to entice him back home.
"Aylie, stop it." Niall grunted, looking around to make sure no one was seeing her lascivious actions. Aylie giggled and cuddled against him. Her eyes following the men that were walking the edge of the gardens with their eyes on her and Niall. Niall pushed Aylie away gently and glared at her, lust hidden within his furrowed brows and blue eyes. "You are in so much trouble when we get home." Aylie bit her lip and gazed at him from under her lashes. "Come on." Niall grabbed her hand roughly and led her toward the parking lot. Her insides jumped at the sound of his voice and strength of his hand. It was going to be a new expierence when they got back to the house. Aylie didn't mind the idea though. She was thankful she was getting what she wanted: Niall away from prying eyes.
